notec
I'm looking for the BEST online resource for vinyl. Now, this may be multiple places to complete the whole picture (I interested mostly in indie rock / classic rock / experimental / folk) - so I'm asking what your impressions/experiences have been/are. I just started buying online again (because the brick and mortar stores are sorely lacking in inventory for my tastes) and have found the Vinyl Collective which had a band I was looking for (Drag the River) so that's what brought me here. However, I'm interested in the flood of Re-Issues that are being pressed these days (Neil Young - Live at Fillmore East) and have found 2 sites that look decent to do business with: Music Direct: http://www.musicdirect.com This one has decent prices far as I can tell but not much of a selection. Music.com: http://www.themusic.com This one has a decent selection and is associated with the Classic Records label but prices are a little high. Parasol: http://www.parasol.com/ This site is poorly laid out and search is HORRIBLE but has decent indie selection. Thoughts on other respectable and reliable merchandise arrives in excellent condition)? regards, n
roadmonkey
I came across forced exposure the other day http://www.forcedexposure.com/ They specialize in imports at non import prices. The only thing that sucks about the site is the browse and search features are something to be desired. But if you have a lot of time to browse, then you may find something amazing. Excellent navigation/search/genre list (the odd SQL/page errors now and again nothing a page reload didn't fix).

Can you try to get TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain? I have only seen it on ebay for like $30. I would rather just buy it from you even if the price is that expensive. bicyclepirate
Here's a couple more: www.dustygroove.com - not sure its what you are into, mostly jazz, funk, soul, and some psych, garage, etc. www.elusivedisc.com - they have all kinds of styles, but more mainstream stuff. I have had great experiences with both places.
xlovecolouredx
i love virgil because he always try to carry your wish stuffs for sell here. vinyl collective is small and so specific genre of rock music but i think this place is warmer than other bigger webstore such interpunk or smartpunk. grow your collection with the growing up vinyl collective.... notec
Aural Exploits is a really good one with fair prices.www.auralexploits.com Great site! Thanks for the suggestion. Very good selection. Excellent navigation/search/genre list (the odd SQL/page errors now and again nothing a page reload didn't fix). Just received my order from these blokes (aural exploits) and I must say I'm very disappointed: every single outer sleeve was damaged severely (i.e. bent corners and damaged spines; one w/multiple bends on 2 corners) No wonder they're cheaper than most... (There was absolutely no damage to any of the corners of the shipping material it arrived in). Not worth the few bucks in saving if they send ya damaged goods. I realize it's difficult to ship pristine outer sleeve covers but if the customer comments that they'd like no damages outer sleeves then you'd think they'd try and honor that when packing. desensitizedbyu
They probably gave you damaged outer sleeves because you asked for none. Welcome to online vinyl purchasing.
