Vinyl Regrets

Recommended Posts

In 1987 when I graduated from High School (damn I'm old) and moved from Ohio to California, I told my Mom she could just sell my 4 peach crates of LPs in a garage sale. She did. 2 crates were all hip-hop classics, including all the original Def Jam burgundy 12"s, etc the other 2 were all rock vinyl. All now long out of print. I wonder how much she got for them

I have sold all the following at Amoeba San Francisco (for probably 10 dollars trade, I can't recall) during phases when I didn't really listen to the artist anymore or was sleeping on how awesome they were or the value of the record:

NIN Fragile

NIN Downward Spiral

Flaming Lips Soft Bulletin

PJ Harvey Is this Desire

Peaches Teaches of Peaches 2x12"

I still sell the occasional promo record that I get but try to hold on to every dumb piece of vinyl now, even ones that I'll never listen to ... because the regret feels worse than the thought of the masses of slabs of vinyl taking up space in every nook and cranny of my living space.
