jayeffscene
I'm looking to buy an external hard drive, as my laptop has about 6 gigs of space left. I don't know what size I'm looking for, but if you've got one you'd be willing to sell, let me know what size it is and how much you want for it. Thanks a lot. adamlikesmusic
You can get 120 gigs at Best Buy for like $50.
controlthebleeding
Best thing to do is go to best buy and buy a small external like this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8755233&type=product&id=1202649958402 it's $99 and for the amount of storage and the size, it rocks.. no fucking external power adapter needed. just runs off your computer. Im not sure about a 120 gig for $50. I don't think i've ever seen a external that cheap.. at least not for a 120 gig. if so let me know so i can buy one.. desensitizedbyu
Get one that uses a power cord, it runs much faster.
controlthebleeding
Get one that uses a power cord, it runs much faster. but is most likely a lot bulkier. if u travel and need one immediately to do stuff off of then get the smaller one that runs off usb2. if it's for home and can stay stationary... by all means get a firewire / usb 2 that is powered through a adapter... desensitizedbyu
Yeah, true, mine is startionary. But since you have a laptop, I do too but don't need it on the go, get one without if you're going to use it on the go. Just sayin'.

thomas
Just buy a cheap HDD and external closure and make one yourself, much cheaper then a pre-packaged one.

I bought my dad one of those last year (I think with 120GB). It's not the fastest when it comes to writing data but very small, light and silent. It doesn't get hot and my dad likes that he doesn't have to fumble around with an extra power cable. I just ordered the 320GB version for myself.
