listening to your records

Recommended Posts

How soon after you buy your records do you listen to them?

Sometimes I pop them on right away but other times I get sidetracked and don't get around to them for months. They all get their fair share at one time or another though. I just listened to these arms are snakes- this is meant to hurt you all the way through for the first time and I've had it forever. It was awesome!

I've seriously had to cut back on my record listening. I used to just tear into em and play them on my shitty turntable. Now, I have to wait for enough time to sit back and let them play (I actually ended up buying Andrew Jackson Jihad on CD because I couldn't find time to listen to it on vinyl). Though house cleaning to London Calling on a sunday afternoon is kinda dope.

I listen every day. But I buy records far faster than I can listen to them. It's pretty ridiculous.

Example: I'm currently cataloguing (sp?) my collection and I came across an Anthrax LP that I bought when I still lived in California over 5 years ago. I bought it because I'd read that it was a "classic" metal album. I'd never listened to it.

It's called Among the Living and I can't believe how much I enjoyed it.

I can't start Saturday morning without listening to The Clash's self-titled while making breakfast.

But yeah, I try to listen to new stuff right away or as close to right away as possible. School's had me bogged down as of late.
