littlejonnyhormone
So I never really got into or saw the appeal of podcasts. They seemed more of a hassle than some sort of entertainment, and I never really sought out after anything that seemed worth a listen. I downloaded the latest Joey Cape VC podcast and listened to it and enjoyed it, and I can see how Itunes can manage these and keep you up to date. I never really knew that this was the case, so that makes it a lot easier. So do you guys subscribe to anything or check anything out on occasion? swank
SModcast is pretty entertaining. It's Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier just having random and usually pretty funny discussions for an hour a week.
kirbypuckett
I don't listen to any Podcasts. I'd be interested in looking into some non-music related ones, but as of right now I have more than enough music to tide me over.
swankymodes
I listen to a few podcasts. This American Life is always great. From NPR, I also subscribe to Car Talk and Fresh Air. Music related I also subscribe to Sound Opinions and Issue Oriented. The Onion Radio News podcast is also good for a laugh every morning. Definitely interested in some NPR stuff since we don't get that here in Pgh.
roadmonkey
I subscribe to Never Not Funny. It's a comedy Podcast hosted by Jimmy Pardo. A lot of really good comedians show up and tell insanely hilarious stories. Recently they've had Maria Bamford, Rob Courdy, Paul F Thomkins, Patton Oswalt, and other pretty amazing comics. Also Jimmy and Matt (the Producer) are amazing Unfortunately, you have to pay for full episodes the free ones give you 20 the first 20 minutes of the episode. It's only $20 for a season (like 6 months). I love it so find it worth while. http://www.pardcast.com

scottheisel
I co-host the AP Show, which is a bi-weekly podcast that generally runs 75 minutes or so. We play a whole bunch of music and then talk shit on a lot of people. It's pretty fun. You can download episodes on iTunes or here: http://altpress.com/podcast/
jpw
I'm a big podcast fan. Used to produce one, about to produce another. Ones I subscribe to re Twit(this week in tech) Mac break weekly, You look nice today(hilarious odd style comedy), The instance, Vinyl collective podcast, Fat wreck podcast but they haven't had a new episode since last december. There is nothing new about the format, its just a recorded show that you can watch/listen to whenever you want. The thing that makes it different and more appealing/user friendly is the subscription model of it. No more checking for new content, when there are new episodes they come to you. Judging by where you fall on the political scale, you'd definitely like Democracy Now! Leans to the left, but fair at the same time. They'll have opposing views on a lot of the interviews. They're broadcast on 700 radio and TV stations daily from 8-9am, but also via podcast. I listen on the radio on my way to work daily and catch the parts I miss on the podcast. In my opinion, the best news/current events/politics show out there. Completely independent (no money from corporations) and very no nonsense news, with great interviews daily. Today's show: http://media.switchpod.com/users/democracynow/ftp/dn2008-1007-1.mp3

birdwell
only ones I've listened to are the VinylCollective PodCasts...I'd rather listen to my own music than some J-Hole rant about whatever. But the VC PodCasts gave you the opportunity for free monies...caught me Hook, Line, and Sinker.
Guest baseball
I also listen to Theatre of the Mind, which has interviews about lots of weird stuff, like binaural brain frequencies or Hawaiian Shamanism, for example. Need to take some of it with a grain of salt, but some interesting characters none the less.
