Snaggle Von Swift
Took an 8.15 mile hike in North Jersey (http://www.njhiking.com/best-hikes-in-nj-apshawa-preserve/) on Saturday - had a great time except for the layers of skin missing on the back on my heel. I need to take two or three more hikes in these sneakers before I leave for Utah (June 26th). I felt great otherwise, so that's a plus. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Look up loop tying your boots to keep them from rubbing your heel. Its a runners tie to make the shoe/boot snug on your ankle Snaggle Von Swift

Snaggle Von Swift
Try going to running shoes/cross trainers instead of boots I don't have boots, they are low sneakers. https://www.thenorthface.com/shop/mens-ultra-fastpack-gtx A friend of mine sent me this video regarding that loop tying, I am going to give it a shot next time I go out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Trip ruled. Didnt go backcountry hiking since it was 95+, but camped for 6 nights in glacier and 1 in teton with a night at a friend's house in between and 2 hotels on the drive out and 1 on the way back. Glacier is mindblowingly incredible.

So I tried the heel lock with the lacing... I have done a 7 mile hike, a 3 mile hike, a 6 mile hike and a 4 mile hike today in them and every time I am still getting very large blisters on my heel and on the bottom of one toe. I picked up merino wool, which are supposed to help, but aren't. The next size down in sneaker is way too small. Any other suggestions? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
trip route, came home through Wyoming/Nebraska/Iowa. 3 hotels rooms for the entire trip, 1 night at my friends house in Western Montana and 8 nights in a tent. Drove up to Logan's Pass and hiked to Hidden Lake on our first full day at Glacier. Also hiked part of the Highline Trail when we got back down to the visitors center. The Garden Wall might be the most amazing glacial formation in the park that we saw. I'll post a picture of that later if I can find it Avalanche Creek on our last full day of hiking, we did this and the trail of Cedars as a good easy day hike. Avalanche Lake was incredible, i'll post a pic of that later, too. We hiked to Sperry Lake, this is Mount Brown, theres a lookout you can hike to up there on the Northern side, we obv. didnt do that. It was 95+ degrees that day, this was the most brutal hike we made. Saw Little Matterhorn and Edwards Mountain as well from here. It was really awesome, but after hiking 7 miles of constant elevation gain, we were exhausted.
