vittywatt
boston IS the college town... you've got harvard, MIT, northeastern, boston university, tufts, boston college, wentworth, berklee, emerson, umass boston, mass art, suffolk, AIB, etc. etc. etc. next throw in the fact that there are 5 giant hospitals, three large/popular sports teams, means you are going to get extremely high rent it sucks but there's no real options besides living outside the city and getting a deal... if you live 25 minutes outside of boston rent drops in half sometimes

kellyjanice
Same here, with my $2,100/month rent. That makes my $2100 mortgage payment sound nice. . Man I was thinking about the same thing. I lived in one of the nicest urban areas in columbus (IMO) and paid 850 a month rent for a 3 bedroom duplex with AC, dishwasher and all those other wonderful things you don't ever find around here. Now that I bought a house my mortage is even less than yours for a 4 bedroom house with den and bonus game room in a great area with a fantastic school district. I feel bad for you people with crazy rent I hope you make a shit ton of money or living must be really tight.
flood
dude yer rent is equivalent to my mortgage... and yes robbie is going to murder you, he was just complaining to me about how tight money was this morning.
skanknsmile
You can do what I did, and move back home, but I don't recommend it. On that note, I am trying to figure out where to move and when, and I keep hearing that I should just save a couple grand and move somewhere and then look for a job, as they are less apt to hire you if you don't live in the area. Is that about right from most of yous guys experiences?

CHICAGO DUDESits awesome One phrase: Going to the beach in November. Try that in Chicago. there are beaches in chicago...albeit not the ocean, but lake michigan is pretty huge. andd yes, that's true, it's cold as fuck here during the winter. i lived in pasadena, ca when i was younger and the coldest it got in like january is what the temperature is outside right now, 44 degrees.
