holland623
i remember getting so much awesome stuff last year, and so many rad things happenine... a little early to be announcing, but whatever... http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2008/11/2nd-annual-record-store-day-to-take-place-april-18.html SECOND ANNUAL RECORD STORE DAY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 18 By Henry Freedland on November 19, 2008 4:23 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) Anyone who saw Paste's July issue knows that we love record stores, and anyone who's been in one, ever, in their life, at any point, for any period of time—well, they should probably love 'em too. But just in case you're one of the three or four music fans who's still not into supporting your local independently owned shop, the second annual Record Store Day is in full planning mode, with an official sponsor of NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers). The event takes place on April 18, 2009, 364 days after the inaugural Record Store Day, which included over 300 participating stores. No big names or coinciding release dates have been boasted yet, but last year's affair included vinyl re-issues of Metallica albums and in-store signings from Steve Earle, Regina Spektor and Billy Bragg, amongst so many others. So here's to helping stores spike their sales again. Find your nearest participating venue here and read some artists loving on their favorite locales here. akross
Man, that was a good day all around. Got some good records, shot my best round of golf to date and saw some great music on the street.

sewbr0
I didn't know last year was the first year. I was in boston at the time, and stopped by newburry comics, saw mates of state and clouds play. And got a slew of free shit. I was up there for piebalds final shows. It was a great day. forgeagain
It was 7 months ago....so no, not almost a year. I don't remember anything exciting happening in Chicago except for a lot of overpriced major label records for sale...so I didn't bother going.
