SECOND ANNUAL RECORD STORE DAY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 18

Anyone who saw Paste's July issue knows that we love record stores, and anyone who's been in one, ever, in their life, at any point, for any period of time—well, they should probably love 'em too.

But just in case you're one of the three or four music fans who's still not into supporting your local independently owned shop, the second annual Record Store Day is in full planning mode, with an official sponsor of NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers).

The event takes place on April 18, 2009, 364 days after the inaugural Record Store Day, which included over 300 participating stores. No big names or coinciding release dates have been boasted yet, but last year's affair included vinyl re-issues of Metallica albums and in-store signings from Steve Earle, Regina Spektor and Billy Bragg, amongst so many others.

So here's to helping stores spike their sales again. Find your nearest participating venue here and read some artists loving on their favorite locales here.
