If I try to buy the same LP I just think, wouldn't I rather have an LP I don't already have. yeah i would much rather spend every extra dollar i have on an lp i don't already own. i'm obsessed with music and i want to have as much variety of albums in my collection as possible and i think variant collecting hampers that. it's funny that someone who collects different versions of the same lp are called variant collectors and it makes sense what else are you going to call them even though all of our collections have some degree of variety. i enjoy trying to go for every record an artist has put out and most of my favorite artists don't put out variants so i wouldnt be able to collect variants even if i wanted to.
