affront Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 Hi, Although I have bought a few bits and bobs in the past from VC, I just signed up for the forum yesterday and have a couple of questions... Firstly, where is the best place to find info on pressing? Obviously I have tried labels and bands sites, but a lot of times I can't find anything. Is there a specialist site? Also, is there a way to set up your pms so you get an email when you get a new message? Excellent forum by the way, seems really well run. I was reading through the vinyl collective label thread, a great idea - have the shares sold out now or are they yet to go "on sale" ? Thanks for your help! I searched for 5 bands and only 1 came up with 1 record out of 6 they released. however I guess I could be productive and help them out and add a ton of crap. burntwolf Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 depends on what you're looking up... burntwolf.com, which is really just my own database more or less nofxwiki.net forum deadformat.net i can't remember off the top of my head others, but there i put a Resource page on burntwolf that might have a couple others.. i really need to add a few more i've found too... as far as accuracy goes, that's another thing. i usually try to triangulate sources and if most agree, i figure it's at least close. if you can get someone from the label to respond and they know, that is always pretty solid, of course. The best way to add to it is add stuff yourself and make sure you've got the proper info from the label/band site. If you can't find something you want to see on there, take some time and submit it. that's what I've done for bands I look for info and can't find. If you see something that's wrong or missing in the database it would be awesome if you would submit corrections or add it. That's the only way the site is going to grow and become better. Thanks.
