Barker is really good i think, im sure he has a grounding in jazz drumming and i've no doubt that makes a massive difference. Gil Sharone, formerly of DEP is fucking incredible, though.

I love when people beat the shit out of their drums as well I think it's kind of dis hearting when they don't.

Seems almost like they are half assing it but you must keep in mind some of the drummers who are playing stuff that is more complex it is harder to pull that off.

the drummer in my old band would barely hit the drums at all...i would actually tell him to hit them harder. made the whole band sound weak.

Krupa has to be one of my favorite all time drummers. mostly because of my parents. They introduced me to him at a early age. the guy basically standardized modern drumming for everyone. Rich took from him and went exceeded what he learned. Next to these two there are few drummers who have the dexterity and speed to compete and write like these two.
