I am currently "reading" (actually listening to the audiobook), "Pow! Right Between the Eyes!", Profiting From the Power of Surprise" and being the big nerd I am, I am loving it. I just listened to to a section describing a soft drink company in Singapore that sells 2 brands: Whatever and Anything. One is a carbonated beverage that comes in a number of flavors, the other is a non-carbonated tea beverage that also comes in a number of flavors. The catch is that you don't know what you are purchasing until the drink hits your lips. Inspired by this idea, we have adopted our own Whatever in the Vinyl Collective/Suburban Home store.

What is our Whatever? Well, for $5.00, you will get whatever we feel like putting in your order. Some of the items we might put in your order might include:

I'd also like to say this is the perfect price for a box full of miscellaneous stuff. Honestly, I could get a box full of old potato chip bags and at $5 I wouldn't feel ripped off. Once you break double digit prices, expectations start to form.

the book I am reading pretty much explains that people love surprises in their life. I say go for it, we live in a world where we get everything we want right away, a nice little surprise is just what everyone needs.
