  1. It's a wonder why anyone outside of record collecting would consider it a world dominated by insular nerds, who spend 95% of their time attempting to outnerd each other with things 99% of the general population couldn't care less about.
  2. From Virgil, "I wish them good luck. That said, I plan to continue putting out records with Suburban Home and have no plans to abandon my plans to put out records for the Under the Influence 7" series, the Vinyl Cooperative label, and Suburban Home. Stay tuned, I have some more changes to announce in the coming months." So (theoretically) no one is out money. I'm not counting it one way or the other but at least he's not claiming to cut and run.
  3. Must repeat how excited I am for the show monday. It's like the most insane line up ever.
  4. Well because Virgil is (supposedly) not associated or reading these boards anymore. It wouldn't do a lot of good to have a thread going, "Hey Virgil, whatz the beer/money situation!? Money? Scramz!" So, might as well just do away with them, or just put all those thoughts on a letter, put it in an envelope addressed, "The Internet" and put it in your mail box. It'll do as much good.
  5. I think there were some things that would be hard to get taken out of context. The "turkey shoot" line they used in the trailer is still hard to make out on its own and I've seen the movie. That said, I got most of it in the movie, but a few times I had to think about it. "I do not know this man."
  6. Amy: We're also Santa Claus! Zoidberg: And I'm his friend Jesus. Mayor: You guys aren't Santa! You're not even robots. How dare you lie in front of Jesus? Mayor: Help us Jesus! Zoidberg: I help those who help themselves.
  7. Give it some time, it has to get a signal...from space!
  8. Thanks, got that and a few other items I'd been meaning to scoop up.
  9. I had a huge meeting like my second week of work and I got coffee right in the middle of my shirt (where the buttons are). Luckily, I kept like two ties in my desk, so I just put one on. It didn't really match the shirt but it was better than a big ass coffee spot. Good luck dude.
  10. Texas toast is gonna be epic! Just got the album the other day, stoked.
  11. I'm sure it's probably just that Epitaph doesn't think it would sell more than a couple hundred copies (especially now) but I'd love to believe that there's some real deep seated anger between the band and the label (to this day). A grudge match is far more interesting.
  12. I can't relate but I had a roommate who made fried chicken on a hot plate in our living room. Is it like that?
  13. Those are cool but I wonder if poster companies/artists just do Star Wars prints sometimes because they know they'll sell out. I think I seen more Star Wars themed posters than any other movie in the last 10 years and they all seem to sell out in 10 minutes. I picture some nerd with like 100 different posters all over his room. Shit's intense.
  14. Wow, that got boring. I'll go back and read it later but it sounds a lot like a guy who's mad that you can find all the Star Wars facts on line now and complains about it in an asinine fashion.
  15. Ordered this in light of my friend telling me the Joyce Manor full length ruled.
  16. Have not recieved my copy from P+P and I paid for it over two weeks ago. Le sigh.
  17. The one thing that's kind of silly is it looks like you get the CD with the LP and then the exclusive CD package. So you get two copies of the CD. Well, makes a good gift, I suppose. All and all that's a decent deal for $50.
  18. Hey, come December 26th, you can send me all your tacky cash gifts and I'll exchange them for well thought out sweaters and other boxes of shit I'm given that I don't like. I don't mind, I'll be tacky as fuck buying out the bar at the Chilli's buffet.
  19. Strippers don't like gift cards?! My god, there's so much I've learned from this thread.
  20. Wait...am I to understand Chilli's has a buffet?
  21. I assume they'll be non-poster bundles but the Grand Ballroom in SF is pretty huge (1,050). I didn't know these guys were that popular.
  22. I still will believe it when I see it. I spoke with them back in like June and they said they expected them to be pressed by Fest. I know it will get done eventually but I'll just wait on when.
