minty
i believe the phrase you wanted to use was take the piss. there's a significant difference. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=taking+a+piss No one ever says that, it's taking the piss. If someone said to me "are you taking a piss" I would think they literally meant urinating.
Just Another Tom
Yup what Minty said. Taking a piss, as in "i am going to take a piss before i leave" - Urinating/taking a leak Taking the piss, as in "i have been taking the piss out of her all day" - Mocking/ridiculing Taking the piss, as in "$500, you must be taking the piss" - emphasising something you disagree with by implying some one is joking with you. Urban dictionary doesn't always get it right.
leerobert
Yeah, this is amazing. Matt Bellamy pure taking the piss on the drums. Not the first time they've done something like this either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZZrM_pS98E&hl=en&fs=

Urban dictionary doesn't always get it right. I'm almost certain that's somewhat of a UK thing, as I've never once heard anybody use the phrase "taking the piss" outside of this very thread. From my experience, it has always been "taking a piss", both in the literal sense and the mocking/ridiculing sense. (Urbandictionary states that "taking the piss" is of British/Australian origins, which could explain why I've never ever heard that expression in the US. Though manicdogbert's use boggles my mind.) manicdogbert
i don't really use that phrase at all. i'm just well aware that the British use it and it's "taking the piss". i've never even heard "taking a piss" used in the mocking sense used in the US. kidamnesiac
Forget the piss argument. You knew what I meant. That Nirvana video is golden. Never seen it before, thanks!
heavyheavylowlow
Muse always swap roles when they are required to Lip Sync, they did it on Live & Kicking just after Origin came out and Walstenholme did lead vocals/guitar, swung his guitar round his neck when the riff on New Born kicked in, looked BAD ASS! heavyheavylowlow
It was the SM:TV Live performance the week after that they all played their own instruments. Live and Kicking definately had Bellamy on drums too
