keevhren
Let's exchange contacts and info for shows around the country... If you book shows, awesome! post some info on where and how to get in touch! If you know of houses/venues/promoters that do shows in your city or in the area post some links. Local message boards or any info that could help people out is definitely welcomed. I'm sure there are a bunch of people on this board that are in bands that could benefit. If we get enough interest I would be cool with the thread getting a sticky and I can compile a list in the first post here as more people post. VIRGINIA: - Slowdown Productions - RICHMOND - http://www.myspace.com/slowdownproductionsva - books really good punk/indie shows here. - http://www.rvashows.proboards.com - one of the richmond shows... run by the guy who does slowdown productions - Community Chest RVA - RICHMOND - http://www.myspace.com/communitychestrva - also books a lot of cools shows in RVA - http://www.whocaresinrichmond.com - the other RVA messageboard. More for hardcore related stuff. - http://www.getrockedout.com - messageboard for Blackburg ( Home of Virginia Tech). A small buy solid scene from what I've heard as of late. WASHINGTON DC: - http://dchardcore.proboards.com/ - http://www.dcshows.net/ - http://www.myspace.com/dcpunkbooking - does a lot of solid shows. rtw88
I would not recommend Glory Days if you are a DIY band, unless you want to try to jump on a big show. He admittedly pays well when a show does well, but 95% of the time he'll book you with a bunch of terrible high school bands and take all the door money for himself. I've never dealt with them, they are just the only people that I know of in that area. Sorry!
mygreatdevastator
If you are in Boston or Central MA, I can always help with shows. Need a bit of an advance, basically, don't email me and say hey we need a show next week. But I am able to get shows at the Middle East, Great Scott, O'Briens, and a couple dive bars throughout the rest of Mass. You can either get me through here or email. jcamps
New Bedford, MA http://www.nbrock.net/board - my small site, i book the occasional show back home and am looking to set up 3-4 shows this summer. http://www.myspace.com/keynotecompany - this dude richard rockstar does a lot of show around new bedford and providence, lately he's been booking at club hell a lot. he can put together an impressive show i guess, but as far as diy ethics go i wouldn't give him any credit at all. theambulancereview
I do 8 shows a year in Fredericksburg, VA at local libraries. Normally they fall on the second Friday of the month, depending on what month I'm given by the librarians. Fredericksburg, VA is located half way between DC and Richmond off of I-95. Contact: Thomas ([email protected]) Great thread Robert.
