scottheisel
The pictures don't do it justice -- each record is absolutely gorgeous. Plus, the F side is this really cool etching.
flood
funny story about mono, ive done sound for them in small halls/basements like 3 times... they totally pull it off live. but anyways... the drummer doesn't speak english, i dont speak japanese... so the two of us had a wonderfully awkward conversation for 15 minutes about how he wanted to mic a glockenspiel

kurtmanner
Are all the copies of this colored? Because it's not giving me a choice when I go to purchase it. I'll probably buy it either way, but yeah.
stefan
First 1000 (of 3000) were (are?) on color. There was no separate color option. Did anyone else's copy have some dust on one of the records? One of my LPs had lots of super fine dust (might have been left over from the manufacturing process??). stefan
just on the clear record. same one
mattisr1984
that dust/grit feel on the record is a result of the production of the record. has something to do with the process of the smoke effect. lots of pirate press releases have it. its annoying but harmless as i understand it. in anycase, im anxiously awaiting this record still. i ordered it the day preorders went up. such an amazing looking package for 20 bucks ppd. temp. residence is awesome. jon720
Every record I've gotten with the "haze/smoke" effect has dust/sand/whatever it is on it. It's a pain, but if you have a carbon fiber brush and go around the record quite a few times (pretty many actually) than it should be pretty clean. I cleaned mine for a good 5 minutes yesterday and there was still some left. Looks great, but it does pop more than normal records I have which sucks. scottheisel
Yeah, LP1 in my set is covered in that dust/grainy stuff. Does it need to be cleaned before being played?
stefan
Yeah, LP1 in my set is covered in that dust/grainy stuff. Does it need to be cleaned before being played? I would definitely clean it, don't want those grits making your needle dance!

matt
Yeah, LP1 in my set is covered in that dust/grainy stuff. Does it need to be cleaned before being played? something that happens quite frequently with records pressed at GZ
scottheisel
So what can I use to clean it (besides a carbon-fiber brush, which is something I'm pretty sure I don't own, seeing as I have no idea what it is)?
