nickheitman
Are there any charities she supports? Maybe a donation in her name. that just seems awkward. never really thought of it though, my girlfriend might enjoy this.

felicia
A well-sequenced mix CD in handmade packaging goes a long way, and bonus points if you include a lyric sheet. I don't know how long the two of you have been dating, but I've always found that girls appreciate well-thought out gifts way more than something commercial like jewelry or whatever. At least the girls I've dated have. its true.

Her father (my grandpa) passed away from cancer the year before, so I made a donation in her name to the ACS.

counterfiction
2GB for $69 and you can add the laser engraving for free. so you can say something cute AND you're donating to an AIDS foundation.
greenatheart
Are there any charities she supports? Maybe a donation in her name. Do this, then handwrite a card/letter telling her about the donation and wishing her happy birthday and all that jazz. I've literally asked people to make donations in my name to environmental organizations I support for my birthday and Christmas, but if someone just did it without me telling them to that would blow me away. And handwritten things are a million times better than cheesy store-boughten cards.
