vc2020
I own 2 records on 10" vinyl and I feel like they're the noisiest records I own. They have all kind of clicks and pops. Is this normal? Why do people press on 10"? The two records are Kid A & The King of Limbs by Radiohead in case anyone was wonder.

vc2020
I've brushed them off with an anti-static brush. What more can I do? (edit: without having to buy something.)

That King of Limbs package was what, $60? Spend whatever minuscule amount it costs to get some record cleaning fluid so it sounds decent. You don't need anything expensive. mclz
I own tons of 10" and I don't have any problems with them. Probably a coincidence with your 2 records.

loene
if i have a record whit pops or something i take some tape and put a coin on top of the needle to put some more weight on it, in most cases it works

kriss
Of the several dozen 10" I own, I don't have this issue. Dudes above have it solid in between getting cleaning fluid and weighing down the arm a bit. For a $60 record, may as well pop the extra $5 to make the investment sound good. adamlikesmusic
Yeah, definitely not a general problem. I don't see why a certain size record would be more prone to unwanted noise than others.

vc2020
I picked up some "record time" cleaning fluid. When I asked about cleaning the guy suggested this $1,000 dollar record cleaner. I'm try it out and see if it makes a difference. My 7" play beautifully so the size probably is a coincidence.

vc2020
Also, why press on 10"? What's the difference other than the size of the record?

adamlikesmusic
Also, why press on 10"? What's the difference other than the size of the record? Because it's more music than can fit on a 7", but less than would warrant a 12". Or aesthetics. (I don't know which record you're referring to, so I don't really know)
