retrospectacle
Anyone else as excited for this as I am? http://www.musicdirect.com/p-60634-morphine-cure-for-pain-180g-lp.aspx First time on vinyl, as far as I know. And does anyone know if this label (light in the attic) has any reputation as far as pressing quality yet?
shamrocks
LITA is a great label, but I cant speak to the quality of the pressings. Excited for this.
birdwell
i believe Light In The Attic has done all of The Black Angels releases (I think)...and their packaging has been stellar...maybe just because of Christian Bland's artwork....all of their vinyl has sounded fine, nothing outlandishly lavish and incredible sounding, but not I have no complaints either
shamrocks
so this is the second release on the LITA "modern classics" imprint, LITA is very similar to Numero in other aspects, hard to find funk/soul and folk/country releases, neat stuff. their first release was mercury rev's "deserter's songs". here is a self-indulgent video of that release, obviously doesnt speak to the quality of the pressing, but the packaging is nice. ! birdwell
what Scott said (about being underated/underappreciated)...hopefully because it's a Light In The Attic release it'll stay in print so whenever i have money, i can actually afford to pick it up
nothingnatural
Will pick this up whenever my local shop gets it.
retrospectacle
Will buy! Morphine were sooooo underrated. I don't think they were underrated. As far as I can remember, they've always been highly regarded, just not well known. Either way, they're sooooo good. Real bummed that we'll never hear anything new for them again. xjustinxschwierx
will consider buying this, $22 is a little steep right now
retrospectacle
will consider buying this, $22 is a little steep right now Amazon has the pre-sale up now, also but it's is currently at $23. I would expect that to come down quite a bit over the next few weeks. We'll see. Typically, when everyone else is $21-$23, Amazon is around $17-$19 sometimes lower. At least, that's been my experience.
billynomates
Anyone kno if the other Morphine albums are getting the vinyl treatment? Excellent news. Norman records in the UK have a preorder up too..
deadreckoning
Morphine are awesome. The "At Your Service" 2xCD that came out a while ago was a pleasant surprise. Apparently, there are still tapes and tapes of unreleased material still in the vaults too. sharks patrol these waters. sharks patrol these waters.
