Just writing you a quick note to let you know that we've put the A/B side Melvins/Totimoshi 7" up in the VEVC Subscriber Store, you guys will get first shot at it over the weekend and then if there are any left, we'll make it available to everyone else on Monday. This 7" color, an A/B side pink and purple, is limited to only 100 and is limit 1 per person. If you need a refresher as to what an A/B side vinyl is, it is a process by which two different colored vinyl blobs are stacked on top of each other and then smooshed together on a manual record press. Sometimes this produces an A side that is completely different in color than the B side - sometimes it resembles ink blots, sometimes it’s more subtle, but ALWAYS each record produced is as unique as a snowflake. Each one is done by hand, so these records are obviously harder and more expensive to make. Since the plant will only give us 100 of these per order, that’s all we'll ever have to sell. shamrocks Posted January 14, 2012 Share Posted January 14, 2012 so whats the incentive for this? a subscription like this would sell out quickly without this...all it does is create a huge collectible, and cant generate much $$$ for the band or label. i think its cool and am thrilled to get one, but theres no way anyone who didnt subscribe actually gets one of these, and theres no way at $8 a piece there is much profit given the A/B side production, right?
