billynomates
Was mentioned on here a while ago as a possibility but looks like it could really be happening; got this email from Chunklet today: Now here it is, the second week of January and I'm sitting in Atlanta with a pile of work in my in box. I've got the Codeine box set I'm designing right now, a Lee Hazlewood retrospective and The Jesus Lizard book. And that ain't the half of it! So..... happy days...... kriss
it's good to know that someone is working on it, too bad Numero has been so hush hush about it though.

timwt
If they did a few shows to support the box set that would be rad as hell.

kriss
Looks like Numero is starting a new line ala their Asterisk side label since the numbering on the cover is 201 (Version 2 #1) as opposed to continuing their established numbering (they're in the 40's at this point) - makes sense though since this release is a drastically different direction than the obscure soul labels they've been known to mine up until this point. enjoyadrian
I like the idea of 90's reissues. Also I don't know how they're going to blow the boddie packaging out of the water, but I have no doubt they will.

kriss
They'll probably make this a 6 LP set which in the case of Numero runs about $60ish - this includes beyond amazing packaging and in a couple of past cases, a full CD set with all that's on the vinyl - it'll be worth the price! Guest
Holy crap, that isn't bad at all compared to what I thought it was going to be.
kriss
Yeah, most of their stuff is super reasonable and averages out to about $9 or $10 per record. The Syl Johnson set they put out in late '10 came in a huge slipcase that housed the 6 LPs, 4 CDs and a fairly thick LP sized softcover book and that was probably the priciest thing they've ever done with it retailing for $70 at the most and $60 at the least. There are only a handful of Numero releases I don't have yet (still need to get around to Boddie even though I have the RSD Boddie .5 release). Guest
That is awesome. I will have to check out more of their releases. Everything I have heard about Numero is positive.
kriss
You should! I feel like I'm one of the Numero fanboys on here because I talk them up so much, but they do such a great job of digging up lost stuff and re-packaging all of it with great liner notes and research, re-mastered sound and generally great packaging. Maybe this release signals that they've gotten close to being tapped out with finding obscure soul and are moving towards early 90's lo fi like what Ken Shipley, their label head, said in a PF interview a couple years back. tankerdesk
Considering you can't get either Frigid Stars or White Birch for less than $50, Anything in the $60 or $70 range is a steal.
