RustyShackelford
Anyone have any good ideas or links to cool 7 inch storage from ikea? I'm currently using 3 plastic storage bins but I would like to get some sort of shelf for them. Maybe something like a mini expedit? I can't find much on their site though. If anyone has good ideas some help would be appreciated!
nivek87
i have big ikea expedit for my 12" storage, however; i have never seen a mini one. I do have two shelves that have these one them though and they work great. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40185841/#/30153242
RustyShackelford
Yeah I've seen those. I'm looking for something a little better looking. I've got a 2x4 expedit and it's filled aside from Two cubes. I keep my 7 inches lined up on top in the plastic storage cubes next to my receiver and turn table use those two that are free to keep my speakers in. I'm also looking to get some speaker stands too though so it'll free up two cubes and itll look nicer with my speakers elevated. It would probably sound better too. roadmonkey
I can't remember the name for it, but I grabbed a metal mesh media storage box (either for DVDs or CDs) and it fit my 7"s perfectly. I would say it is like 8" x 8"x 20". It comes with some magnets attached to the side for expandability purposes. I can post pics when I get home. RustyShackelford
Cool man! I would appreciate it!
adamlikesmusic
I myself use the IKEA DVD boxes for my 7"s and just toss the lids. I keep them in my Expedit, though I'm pretty much out of room to continue storing my 7"s in my Expedit.
serravalle
Not the best picture, if I remember I'll take a better one once I'm home.. but I took two 2x4 expedits, customized them and have shelves for 12", 7" and my favourite cds. I don't have many 7" yet but when I do I have lots of space for them..
RustyShackelford
Those are all cool ideas. I don't want them to take up a cube on my expedit I'm almost out of room as it is. Im looking for something I could maybe stack on top of it. Or maybe even something I could mount on my wall
Eclipsical
Build your own. You can get a big scrap of wood that is already finished from Ikea in the scratch and dent section for $1 Cut five 7.25" inch pieces and use a nail gun to assemble them. That's what I did. patron
IKEA used to sell this boxes called a Trissa that were perfect for 7"s. I only bought two before they discontinued them. I wish I could find a couple more.

Eclipsical
It's sturdy and heavy as shit. One night I was a little too drunk while spinning some records and I dented the top of my expedit by setting it down too rough.
RustyShackelford
Nice! I'll have to do that, I might try to make them stackable. How is it if you turn it on its side? I imagine it would be hard to browse through. Maybe if I made it an inch taller or so

I imagine it would be hard to browse through. Maybe if I made it an inch taller or so That would work, I just prefer to have my 7"s top loading. You could actually just keep building up instead of stacking them - it would be much sturdier.
xfedupx
I use the 3 shelf bookcases from Big Lots. I think they're 15 bucks or so. If you already have a container, you could probably put those on the shelves. That's what I did. 3 bins across fits perfectly (at least the bins I use)

mouthofinfinity
Does anyone know how sturdy these are? I'm looking for something to keep my LP's in that fits in an expedit to protect them from my puppy. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00180384/

fourfourtwo
I use the Billy bookcase. I bought and extra shelf, and you could adjust the shelves to hold 4 rows of 7"s. about a 70-80 per row. www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90085702/#/20085705
