Help me find new music!

Recommended Posts

alright so i have recently been getting back to my roots and listening to music again. basically i lived and breathed music as a kid and once i got a girlfriend, i fell off. we are still together, but after 6 years on hiatus, im back ;D

basically here is my dilema. i am having a hard time finding the same genre music "now" that i used to like "back then" .. if that makes any sense lol. i really want to get back into the music scene and support new bands out there that i would like, but i dont know how to find them out of the millions of bands out there. any help would be much appreciated! so far through these forums, i have discovered ""hot water music" , "jamie's elsewhere" , and "the fall of troy" i really hope to find alot more great bands through you guys :) . please dont troll the fuck out of me lol....

some of the stuff i like:

thursday

thrice

senses fail

a day to remember

silverstein

relient k

jacks mannequin

funeral for a friend

finch

alkaline trio

underoath

saves the day

saosin

taking back sunday

sparta

rufio

anberlin

killswitch engage

mineral

once again any help would be great

you'll need to get all of the new pop punk you have missed like the wonder years, fireworks, man overboard, set your goals, and (early) four year strong.

easiest way to do it is just get a spotify account, and you'll be finding new stuff in no time flat.

holy wow. you hit the nail on the head. these are all great. and the craziest part is that "man overboard" is from my home town!! how the hell did i not know this? im so pumped. thanks everyone for the info. so glad i started this thread.

Listen to Trophy Scars. They started out as a punk/post-hardcore type band back in 2002 and have evolved into a really great band with an extremely unique style. I'd recommend checking out their 2009 album "Bad Luck" first, it really shows off the direction they want to take the band. Their two newest EPs are just as great IMO: "Darkness Oh Hell" and then "Never Born Never Dead".
