You can use these with your hifi or out an about and for $69.00 reduced from $180+ they're a bargain.

here's their what hi-fi review:

Judo in college. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu now. I don't have mongoloid ears, I drained them every time they blew up, but I have big solid chunks in my ears from each time they blow up. You can only drain so much out. But now I have an excuse to never have to use headphones!

I wish my wife and tenants weren't an excuse to have to wear headphones the majority of the time.

My birthday is in a week, my wife is hopefully gifting me a pair of Alessandro MS-1's...

Good choice, hope you enjoy them. If I were to rank my headphones those would come second only to my DT770's. The M50's someone else mentioned were my first pair, but are very sub par compared to my other headphones.

Originally asked for the Grado SR80i's but another. Kind VCer recommended the MS-1s instead.

Wife never got around to ordering a pair so I went ahead and got the MS-1's for her to give to me, haha.

Can't wait to see this thread get a little bit larger, I'm in the market for a nice pair of headphones for iPhone/Laptop/Vinyl to get for my bday \m/

Seriously, these are really diverse, good for home and on the move.

If it's just for home, try a pair of Grado SR80i

these are not pretentious pretenders, these are the real deal and make those AKG's look like kittens in a lion's den, and the AKG are good.

Just got my pair yesterday. Love them. I did the mod of cutting a quarter size hole in the middle of the comfies. Improved the sound maybe just a tad. Gonna buy some bowl cups and do the taped mod first, then look to turn these into MS1000's somewhere down the line.

If you ever get into the hobby enough I would try to make/buy some wooden cups similar to here: http://www.headphile.com/page5.html

The sound is much richer after the upgrade. I modded mine with cocobolo wood and they sound great but my bowl earpieces fell apart on me.

Beautiful. I was looking at the standard woody. Ill definitely be dropping the coin to upgrade sometime down the line. Reason I bought these was partially because of the customization options.
