dreamover
A new preorder was launched this morning for James Iha's new record coming out stateside September 18. The record has been out for about a month in Japan, and it is really great. Not as country as his first record (14 years ago). This one feel very James, a lot of shoegaze, dream pop. Just a lot of fun. The album features guests such as Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara, Nathan Larson of Shudder To Think, and Tom Verlaine. I was really worried this would not see a vinyl release, but my worries are now gone! You can order the LP by itself for $14.49 or a bundle including the LP on blue vinyl, t-shirt, one of a kind button and polaroid to the first 100 customers for $27.99. I am not sure if the blue vinyl is limited to the bundle, but the single LP option doesn't mention blue vinyl, so it's possible. The shipping on the bundle was only $3.18. crapforgenius
I saw him open for Fountains of Wayne a few months back and must say I wasn't super impressed with any of the new material. That said, for $14.49 and to support him - he was always my favorite in the Pumpkins - it's worth a shot. Thanks for the heads up!

moonbeams
I don't know much about James Iha or SP, but there was this film called Linda Linda Linda where Iha wrote and played a phenomenal score.
almightyseancore
on the fence about this one. i got it on my phone and i've listened to it a few times, but it's fairly mediocre. it blows "let it come down" out of the water, but it's still kinda mundane.
