Watching documentaries on Netflix this evening, just finished Craigslist Joe. Pretty inspiring watch, but that may be due completely to the incredible soundtrack. Just started After Porn Ends, I'll keep you posted.

Literally just watched Craigslist Joe Monday night and I agree. Great documentary and killer soundtrack

Current tv ranked hoop dreams as the best documentary of all time. Believe it is streamable. Don't really agree with that ranking but it's good.

Some of them are pretty well known (inconvinient truth, Michael Moore stuff, super size me, dogtown, etc). Thin blue line is very good.

The ones I've seen that I don't think are as well know are Grizzly man, exit through the gift shop, gasland, man on wire, biggie and tupac, and king of kong. All very good to great movies (king of kong was probably my favorite).

Hope to see the whole list someday. But many of these are streamable I believe and all recommended.

I gotta agree, Hoop Dreams is pretty damn good. I also agree with you on Gasland and Man on Wire but Exit Through the Gift Shop is a mockumentary. Personally, my all time favorite doc is "When the Levees Broke".

So Life After Porn wasn't as interesting as I hoped it would be.  Because it focused solely on a small sample of ex-porn stars that happened to be successful in the trade, it didn't offer much more information in regards to the ins and outs (pun intended) of the industry, aside from generic basic information.  Still a pretty alright watch nonetheless.

Followed Life After Porn with Mansome, which was produced by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, and directed by Morgan Spurlock, takes a look at fashion, hygiene, and appearance of the modern man.  There are humorous bits bits featuring Zach Galifianakis and Paul Rudd, as well as a few other celebrities.  Overall, an entertaining watch, aside from furthering my hatred of all things beard related these days.  There is a portion which focuses on men and their beards and highlights a particular individual, Jack Passion, whom tries to convince the world that growing/having a beard should somehow be considered a sport.  Scott Ian responds to "professional bearding" as "gay, for a lack of better word."  Those of you on here with beards, please do not be offending, I merely hate this individual

A man who states that lacking a beard is a sign of lacking manhood, as he wears a pair of fitted Diesel jeans.

This is beside the point though, I merely needed to vent for a moment. I had the day off so I'm filling the hours with a lot of movies.  Just started Exit Through the Gift Shop.  I can't believe it's taken me this long to finally view this.

Watched V/H/S-2 and Worlds Greatest Dad tonight.

I honestly have no idea why everyone is saying that the second V/H/S film is way better than the first because I for one couldn't see that.  The first one was so much more creepier/scarier it isn't even funny.  The second one definitely had its moments, but overall, it doesn't even come close to the first.

Worlds Greatest Dad was pretty good though.

Didn't know VHS 2 existed. Thanks! Might try and get that in tonight now that I am finished with Arrested Development.

No problem! Yeah it's definitely a fun watch, but as a whole, I didn't think it was better than the first at all. The last segment was probably my favorite as a whole. The second to last was really good too but it could've been better.

Just watched. Thought the 3rd one was awesome (the cult / demon story) and the rest were so-so.

Too lazy to search, is there a Venture Bros. thread?

I just bumped it.  Not a post in almost 5 years!

Did you like it more than the first V/H/S though?  And if so, I'd really like to understand why, haha.

Re: Jack Passion and bearding, check out the show Whisker Wars.  Most of the other guys the show profiles are really nice and have cool beards, but that guy is just a giant douche to everyone.  Spoiler alert: He loses his "best beard" award at the World Championship and throws a temper tantrum like a little baby.

I saw The Purge tonight and I don't really understand why there's been all the hate about it.  It was a pretty good psychological thriller, but the ending was weak.  It'll be interesting to see how they do the sequel.  The only thing that I could see as potentially causing disappointment was that it was promoted as more of a horror movie and I definitely wouldn't call it that.  A few jump scares, but definitely more psychological.
