chefchino
You should have just asked for a partial refund or sent it back when you got your money. I'd be pissed too if some kid was crying over a seam-split on a used record and snaked me out of money or the record itself. No bueno. Seam-splits don't affect the record itself. Cardboard tears, that's life. I tried multiple times, it was packed up and ready to be sent. He offered me a good faith 5$ and when I said no that I wanted to return he stopped responding.Normaly I wouldn't care but I spent a lot on a "mint" record and that's one of the few I'd like in nice shape, not with a tear thru the spine. You got your money back and kept the LP (due to eBay/PayPals flawed ass system) and you still had to leave him a negative? People like you are quite annoying. If you're an asshole, make it super difficult on the buyer to make a return and refuses then ignores messages after calling me an moron and telling eBay I was trying to scam him. Yup, deserved it. Yeah, once you got refunded you should have sent that record back...exactly why I don't sell on ebay. Punishers. He didn't have to payback the money either. Why should I send it to him?
chefchino
Also read the whole thing guys before jumping down people's throats Also I tried to get a refund where I just mailed this back but he freaked out and refused The long story short part was him harassing me about trying to "scam him" ^^^^ after I showed him the thread here on how to pack a record he flipped, called me a moron, and proceeds to call everyone from here a moron bc "he makes a living" off our stupidity for buying his flipped records But whatever, that's what I get for sharing. VC strikes again.

Guest
He didn't have to payback the money either. Why should I send it to him? Maybe I misread...did you get a refund from ebay/paypal or someone other than the seller directly?
chefchino
Maybe I misread...did you get a refund from ebay/paypal or someone other than the seller directly? It was a courtesy refund from eBay, when they can't side with either. So eBay bites the bullet. If it ended up coming out of his pocket, I would've sent the record back. He rubbed it in my face that he got to keep the money.
codeine
Pineapple, jalapenos, and bacon or ham is INCREDIBLE. Yes! I do pepperoni, pineapple and jalapenos... maybe extra cheese.

Not as big of a deal if it only cost ebay money....and yes, that seller is a total douche.
moonbeams
Just the hits: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/68947-stupid-packaging-an-educational-thread/ - shit this thread looks familiar http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/78423-death-of-a-wire/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/86425-how-come-we-dont-have-a-thread-where-you-post-pics-of-your-newest-acquisitions/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/85748-love-em-or-hate-em-the-ultimate-variant-collecting-thread-wrecord-porn/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/78561-question-for-those-who-put-naked-records-on-the-floor-and-take-pics-of-them/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/78093-what-would-you-do-if-you-anticipated-at-least-2-moves-overseas/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/73910-how-to-remove-sticker-stains-dirt-ring-wear-and/ http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/73282-let-ebay-tank-buildng-up-discogs-for-primary-mrkt/ I saw the post you made on the everything else board about me that wasn't a nice thing to say. But its cool cause Moonbeams is just my inner goofiness on full-throttle. In my professional real life, I have to be very conservative in all aspects. But what I don't get is, do you really not like Moonbeams? Because I have completely forgotten about all those threads, but you haven't. I'm not good at encoding information into long term memory. I'm soon to forget my threads, that's why they repeat. Honest mistake.
moonbeams
Yo, no lie, I am totally into pineapple in general and that def includes on pizza, but I'll share a little tip for the pizza lovers out there. Jalapeno + Pineapple is key. Doesn't matter what else is on it, but those 2 together are total win. If you don't like spicy, or don't like pineapple (esp on pizza) then disregard, you prob won't be converted, but I would say still worth a shot, unless you have stomach ailments and should avoid spicy food. It's like the Jalapeno spices it up, but the Pineapple cools it right down. Yin and Yang. Never tried it. But pizza is expensive, so I'm not one to take a risk like that. It's like buying a record of a band you've never heard.
moonbeams
You forgot my personal favorite: using THE SECRET to will records into existence. http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/62983-law-of-attraction-and-hunting-for-vinyl/ Ok, this is my biggest embarrassment. I wrote something stupid. I admit it. I'm not going to defend it. I disown it now. Enjoy.

moonbeams
At the very least you should always send the record outside the jacket, seam splits on brand new records are the worst. I agree, Brand New records suck. Finally someone else here with a good distaste in music.
moonbeams
I just had some great coincidences in my personal life and wasn't educated much at the time of the post, so I posted something stupid. Anyway, I'm happily married, getting started in an exciting field, and the worst part of my life is how nerds treat me online. That's pretty good. oonbeams, if The Secret was able to get you job interviews AND the hottest chick you ever saw on Facebook, why isn't it working for your seam splits & corner dings? moonbeams
Haha, I didn't even look at his profile. Pretty sad that the dude is actually 32 and acts the way he does. moonbeams
Well written and informative... I'm sure this will help some of the newbies to vinyl who inevitably do not use the search function and who do not visit other sections of the board. Too bad there's a lot of trolls ragging on you for no significant reason. Thanks for always keeping it real. My threads are troll-bait. I think I will just retire this account and re-register. Or keep this open to troll the trolls and re-register.
moonbeams
Mine was only a joke. I just get a chuckle out of your threads and would love it if you changed your name to that. I just like to think of original things. Anyway, I can't change my name for another 2 months
moonbeams
If reading threads you make puts you in a bad mood, why keep making threads? Part of me still believes that they will strike up good conservation, healthy debate, and in the end protect records from being damaged or whatever I'm crusading about. moonbeams
Good thread, would read again. I really don't understand the Moonbeams hate. There are plenty of threads on this board that are less useful/more redundent than this one, and even those don't annoy me enough to comment. Well, I did write some stupid threads 2 years ago. So for some people, everything I write is an opportunity to rehash something foolish I said. not directed at esbe: I try to be fair and give everyone a response. But if someone comes in here saying something stupid and childish (like dreamer), don't be surprised if I call you out, respond with something stupid or just let you speak for yourself. Remember, we're all collector nerds or vinyl enthusiasts. There are no brownie points to be won here and if you're trying, might I suggest there's a real world out there and you might be missing out on life. moonbeams
Actually, I'm in a similar predicament. The record was almost nicely packaged (backing cardboard too small, caused bend), but USPS put a hole through everything, so the record is unplayable. It's not the seller's fault. The seller is a big store with 10,000 feedback, so I emailed him asking if he'd take a return (thinking I lost more than he did). No response, so I opened a case. I didn't ask for a refund, only a response, but still no response. I'd love to send back the record, even at my cost.

VC strikes again. The moral of the story is that you have to assume that seller's don't know how to ship a record and request the way you want them sent. Hold on, I hear it.. "Wait, Moonbeams, then why would you make this thread? Why not just ask sellers to do what you want?" To spread an idea, that's why.
