burkyburk Posted April 29, 2013 Share Posted April 29, 2013 My store still had a copy of this yesterday so I snatched it up. After opening I noticed that the Parallax 2 vinyl were blue/grey. Did they not make a new colorway for this box set? It seems that the Hypersleep vinyl is a new color. Not that I mind, I still love this set. Just curious! You can get Parallax 2 for $30 online (which is still too expensive for a record), so this means that Hypersleep is $50? I actually didn't look at the price assuming it was like $45 or $50, then I was checking out on RSD and saw it ring up for $89.99 and was like "shit." Semi-unrelated, but the packaging and sound on The Anatomy Of is incredible. haven't even had a chance to admire it! hopefully i can get some time to spin it today. But I think there is probably a ton of overstock because of how expensive this is. Somehow they found a way to raise the price and increase demand. The spot gloss, dual inserts, gatefold, three different color vinyl, poster. It's rad. Certainly blows away my Norma Jean box set. They didnt just think that up for the boxset. They took the same two things and put them a box. I do agree the individual releases are very nice. But not very much thought went into this.
