toomanyrecords
How do these records sound? I didn't see a topic about this. I enjoy Metallica but pretty much just their singles and a few other songs. The only song missing on this box-set that I love is Seek and Destroy. Is the sound quality good? Wondering if I should pick this up.

toomanyrecords
There's a decent price for one on ebay right now but I don't want to drop it unless the pressing is awesome.
piky0032
Good point......as soon as I have heard both pressings I will post up
David Loyd
I received my box yesterday. Red, white and black discs. Sturdy box, stencil/spray paint cutout and it sounds awesome. Sound quality was definitely a priority it seems and it paid off. And it has a live version of Orion! Highly recommend this to any fan. $35 on amazon for a 3 disc Metallica box set is a no brainer IMO.

David Loyd
Amazon only sells the 33 as far as I know. I ordered 2 sets from amazon and both had 3 different colored vinyl.

Mourning Wood
I couldn't get out to a store so I ordered the 45 rpm pressing. Should be here in a week or so. Bet it will sound good at 45.

iron666monkey
I was at Amoeba in LA today and they had a bunch of the 33 and 45 rpm sets. They looked nice but I passed and bought some other stuff I didn't have and really wanted. I'm digressing, but God damn I love that store. David Loyd
Apparently these is also a 3Lp black EU pressing that is being presses Nice. Have you had a chance to compare the two? I was incredibly impressed with the 33. I'm wondering if the difference in the 45 is quite noticeable, or barely.
piky0032
I thought the 45 was better....I found, on my set up it was a lot more bass (in a good way) and generaly balls....in saying that, the 33 was still pretty good.....I know that if I were to play on a regular basis, the Black 45 version will be getting much more attention
