Japes
...Please? I've been really into folk-punk type stuff lately. Andrew Jackson Jihad, Ghost Mice, Johnny Hobo, Paul Baribeau, Rosa, 37 Cents, A Paper Cup Band, Eric Ayotte, The Anorexic Olsen Twin, and I guess, old Against Me! are among the ones I listen to. I feel like I definitely need some more to jam to. Also, I'm going to pretty much try out every band on Plan-It-X. Can anyone throw down some more bands that are similar? voodooman595
Harley Poe: B-Horror folk-punk (how appropriate for this time of year) Mischief Brew: Superb musicianship and lyrics Mutiny: Self described as "Folk punk for punk folk." from Australia! The Currency: A few members of Mutiny The Sways: Mighty talented band from the UK; slide guitar! The Filthy Thieving Bastards: Made up of 3/5 members of the Swingin' Utters This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb: Lots of neat vinyl from them Evan Greer: Member of the Riotfolk collective; wonderful political songwriter Sycamore Smith: One of the best lyricists I've heard; more folk than punk though The Violent Femmes: Perhaps one of the founders of "folk punk"

eddieruckus
yeah I was gonna say some of old imadethismistakes old stuff has a folk punk feel, but I think their newest record strays from that, its really an amazing record

Japes
Alright, I tried out everything here I hadn't heard and loved pretty much all of it. Thanks for the recommendations guys. Keep'em comin' if you've got'em. Also, I tried finding more songs by that Sycamore Smith guy but no dice. Absolutely nothing. If anyone owns the albums and wants to upload a favorite for me to try out or something, I'd be smitten.
saxamaphone
I'd also recommend Springsteen's Nebraska. It's not folk punk, but if you like those types of bands, you'll like that album.

steventangent
I love a lot of these bands, but this "genre" is kinda stupid. In the same way that every genre is stupid, but yeah. Stupid.
Japes
Haha, I was waiting for this post to come. I get what you're saying, but it's the easiest way to describe it.
