  1. I don't understand - if the went under where did the rights to the music go? I understand finding the plates might be a pain... but remaster it. I'm sure there is enough interest to make the trouble worth it.
  2. I, by the grace of the Mondonati, managed to snag man-bat variant I needed. - and on my phone no less; in the middle of no where Michigan on my way to Detroit this morning. So damn excited.
  3. The universal series is so rad. I'm excited to see what the chase variants for that are. I assume just some glow in the darks?
  4. That's a whole other thread. If I ever get a more long-term residence I'll go insane building a home theater...
  5. So I just found out American Football played tonight at the Owen Show at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago... I'm dead. Why didn't I go?
  6. For sure. I'll try and make it out on my day off - I'm excited to see what I can find. Thanks.
  7. Just watched a bunch of E3 footage. Certainly not a hack'n'slash. It looks... kind of heavy? clunky? is that the word I'm looking for? Obviously that would be an early build in all of that.... but still. I seems deliberate though - like that's just the vibe they're going for. What do I know though - that's not my cup of tea.
  8. What to do first is certainly one of my main questions - sorry to ramble. I assumed speakers would be up there. I'm like 10 minutes outside of Chicago and I've seen / been in a few hifi shops around here but am just so uneducated in these things that I just sort of looked around like an idiot without much idea of what anything there was... should really learn to actually ask people questions, huh? And according the Magnolia website there are quite a few best buys with them around here as well as Magnolia design centers? I assume that's their flag ship? This is all super helpful.
  9. I'm fully aware of that thread - I bought my headphones based on the advice in there and sort of based my turntable choice off of it... but that is more or less a list of pieces to a system - not what works the best with what else. I don't totally have a "budget" per say. I'm looking to buy stuff one piece at a time.. I assume I'd be spending like $250 - 300 or so on each piece? My table was like $320 which is more or less what I'm looking to put into each upgrade. I'd probably be willing to spend more - $400 a piece? Someone tell me if I'm being unrealistic - please.
  10. So I'm relatively active on other sections of this website and I've seen lurking this one for a while now - and really I'm sort of overwhelmed... but wanting to learn. I'm looking to slowly build a better set up but with money / space being an issue I'm not totally sure what to do and when. So here is a brief overview of my set up(s) so far. Like five? or so years ago an ex-girlfriend bought me crosley (don't worry I said 'ex'). It didn't take me long to learn that was NOT the way to go so within a few months I was able to sang a table from one of my dads old stereos: That was a Kenwood KD-47F which being old and not super well maintained for a while now had loads of problems... being full automatic and all. The auto-start would come down too slow and it would be a few seconds into a record before you'd get anything out of it and it would periodically just stop spinning for whatever reason. I tried fixing / replacing a few parts on this before deciding to look for something new. From there I tried out the U-Turn Orbit table with the Grado Black1 cartridge and acrylic platter. I know I probably could have gotten a Pro-Ject at that price... but it is what it is at this point. SO all of that is being run through a receiver I bought off my uncle - which is a Sony STR-DE525 which I think is for a surround sound even? So I'm pretty damn sure that needs to go.. I HAD some decent floor speakers with access to even nicer ones but I no longer have the room for them so I picked up some crappy like $90 sony bookshelf speakers - don't even know what model but I could look it up if I needed to. Basically - I have an idea of what needs to be replaced - but with so damn much on the market I don't know what to get or from where. TLDR: I currently have a U-Turn Orbit Plus with a Grado Black1 cartridge on a Sony STR-DE525 A/V receiver and some shitty bookshelves and need to know what to upgrade first and to what.
  11. My girlfriend lost my copies of paper boats years ago and I really really really want another. How much are you looking for in its condition?
  12. I like them in theory more than in practice. I'm always down to play them in a group hanging out and what have you - but not really the kind of game I want to sit alone and work through.
  13. I haven't even heard of such a game yet - will be looking into it. but if its hack//slash like Derek said - eh. So what?
  14. It's really whatever. They are almost identical - that being said PS4 DOES have the better hardware but that will only show it's face on the exclusives - anything cross-platform is dumbed down for the lesser of two (three?) so graphically, it's kind of a wash. As far as exclusives go - PS4 has lots of sweet indies (but Xbox is certainly making headway there), some amazing adventure games, and not to mention the JRPGS... while Xbox has some sweet shooters like Halo (MCC and Halo 5 next year), Titanfall (which may be coming to PS4 in the second title), Fable, and some equally sweet indie titles. I'm obviously leaving out quite a bit here... but if there is something you really want (-cough-Halo 2 remaster-cough-) go with that. Feature wise its also super similar - last E3 M$ was super feature heavy and lack luster with the games. THIS E3 it was flipped and Sony was all about the features.... and speaking of Playstation now could be damn cool - if done right... (EA is also doing that subscription service with M$ tho) I bought the Xbox One myself, but plan to eventuallllly get a PS4 (probably if/when Kingdom Hearts goes up on PSNow) Honestly - I'd go with what your friends play. If you already had a community built to play on - stick with it.
