  1. OK here's the thing. This song isn't objectively bad. The middle period Coldplay reference was more speaking to the fact that this song had nothing dynamically that made it an interesting Radiohead song, it's safe beyond safe. I guess my gripe is while technically good, it sounds like it was written by very bored, though talented group of middle aged dudes. If you want to tell me i'm wrong or that i don't know anything knock yourself out. But if you're gonna tell me the you are riding the "Hype Train" for this the same way you were for Kid A, Hail to the Thief or even In Rainbows, you are either lying to me or yourself.
  2. Sorry, when they changed the site over to the new format, I guess I missed the new rule that the only talk of Radiohead can be of the utmost praise.
  3. Oh weird, because that's totally who I thought was going to...
  4. Who is going to be the first to admit that this song sounds like middle period Coldplay at best? Video aside, that song did nothing of interest.
  5. Wonder what the liklihood of ever seeing a vinyl release of Crystal Ball'(or at the very least The Truth) is?
  6. Wanted that Man Man reissue. Got that Man Man reissue. All in all my cheapest record store day yet!
  7. This is from TMZ so take it with a huge grain of salt.......... I dunno, this doesn't really vibe with what i know of his late life conversion to JW, unless of course he was (AIDS/Cancer) sick, that's the only way i could really see it. Still though, fuck. what a loss Prince was treated for a drug overdose 6 days before his death ... multiple sources tell TMZ. We broke the story ... Prince's private jet made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, hours after he performed in Atlanta. At the time his reps said he was battling the flu ... something we questioned because his plane was only 48 minutes from home before the unscheduled landing. Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a "save shot" ... typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate. Our sources further say doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. His people demanded a private room, and when they were told that wasn't possible ... Prince and co. decided to bail. The singer was released 3 hours after arriving and flew home. We're told when Prince left he "was not doing well." We know authorities in Minnesota are trying to get the hospital records from Moline to help determine cause of death.
  8. /Thread ...JK. It seems neat as an idea, but as others have said it will need a dedicated nationwide userbase of like minded individuals and i just don't know that there are enough of us out there. Also, that name has to go. Hell, Even Vinylz might be better.
  9. Color me intrigued...... Ryan Adams ‏@TheRyanAdams 4m4 minutes ago Something is about to happen..... Something really good #Tonight #Stay Tuned
  10. Has anybody bought or heard much from this label? I'm a big fan of both Barna Howard and Quiet Life, and was wondering if anybody here had purchased much vinyl from them? general experiences etc? http://tunes.mamabirdrecordingco.com/
  11. Is your local shop in Portland by chance? I'm thinking about going to a listening tomorrow night and would love to meet a fellow VCer.
  12. Yep, just found the link as well. Sorry guys, feel free to meme/flame me all you want!
  13. My apologies, i found the thread for VMP but couldn't find one specifically about this service.
  14. Hey Gang! I've been curious about joining one of these "Vinyl of the month' clubs lately, and VNYL is catching my over VMP. I read a few articles from last May indicating that the curation and quality of the records was pretty sub par. Are their any users on the forum that use this service that could confirm/deny these findings?
  15. My wife and i try to limit it to 1-2 releases per week. Obviously if there is a week where there isn't anything I want but next week there are 3-4 things, that's fine. It's hard to break the habit of wanting to pick up every record i think i might listen to one day, but at some point you just have to get real about the "hobby".
  16. If you guys can see her this tour, do so. I have a feeling this is the last time you will get to see her in such an intimate/small setting.
  17. Thanks guys! Mississippi Studios actually has a balcony area with a little bit of space off to the side. I was pretty happy with how it turned out too.
  18. Untitled by Jacob Johnson, on Flickr They did! I managed to snag only a few, due to the crowd and me feeling kinda laid back.
  19. Mesmerizing. She has such commanding presence, the entire audience was silent for the 50ish minute set. For those that care, she also had a tour exclusive color of the album as well.
