What's a Pink Floyd?

Is anyone else doing Extra life this year? I typically try not to bug people with my personal passions/projects but in the name of helping sick kiddo's i thought id give it a shot. My link is below as well as some general info about Extra Life. If you can't donate, that's cool, i appreciate y'all taking a look, and if you have an oppurtunity somewhere in your life to help spread the word, I wouldn't hate it. Thanks gang! http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=223312 I'll be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG's! Since 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $22 million to help children's hospitals provide critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, research and charitable care. It's my sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to my hospital.

Ah, that makes a little more sense. I wonder if the same "non specific" issue is holding up the Zwan/Solo stuff from coming out?

It's really a bummer that this project has all but died right before some of the most interesting content could start coming out. Classic fucking Billy.

Record Stores in Portland and Seattle.

There might already be a thread about exactly this, but just in case. You can't go wrong with 2nd Avenue records in Portland for your Metal/Punk/Hardcore needs. Music Millennium off of Burnside is also a winner.- 15 replies

I wish MoFi would take on a couple more of his records. Sea Change is still one of the best sounding records i own. -

Lost Wisdom has been out of print on vinyl for a while now. Here is an updated version with a more legitimate LP jacket, a new and better poster, all the lyrics, and a free download. If you don’t already know these recordings, they are special. Julie and Fred stopped in Anacortes for a couple days in 2008, musicians passing through, and recorded these quick and pretty versions of acoustic Mount Eerie songs in a small wooden room on the 3rd floor of an old old building. The voices harmonize and meld well in the room itself before even finding the microphone. Straightforward and powerful. (ten songs, white vinyl LP, heavy old style jacket, full color double sided jumbo poster on heavy uncoated stock, 34 1/2” x 23”, download card) http://www.pwelverumandsun.com/store -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pretty stoked about this one.

What video games have you been playing?
JacobMckinley replied to jayeffscene's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Currently working on: Tropico 5, Doom and Star Trek the game. Just completed: Uncharted 4, Starfox Zero, and Ratchet & Clank. It's weird to have so many decent choices in May. -
Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool

Do we know if there are any sonic improvements regarding the new set of reissues? I was slightly surprised to see that they are continuing to keep Kid A and Amnesiac on Double 10"s- 2,010 replies

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
JacobMckinley replied to highfives's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
For Context: "At the end of the video, Yorke says something indecipherable. When the audio is isolated, reversed, and sped up, it appears he says something like "every minute, half of my love." Listen to that isolated audio here. It's not the first time the end of a Radiohead video has featured indecipherable speech: The video for "Just" does something similar.- 2,010 replies

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
JacobMckinley replied to highfives's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I will gladly retract my statement where i inferred that this reminds me of middle period Coldplay, as i wasn't really trying to infer that the bands sound like each other in any way, which seems to be what most people are taking away from the comment. I was never trying to bash Radiohead, IMO OK/Kid A/Hail to the Thief is about as solid of a 3 album run as any band could have, the point that i was poorly trying to make is that i didn't feel that the song was engaging in the way Radiohead is often engaging to me. I really dislike King of Limbs but i can say that i felt engaged if not challenged by it. The new song didn't grab me at first, but as this thread continued i couldn't just assume that y'all were just flat wrong so i gave it about 5 more listens on my Audeze's. It definitely grew on me, i tried to focus on the bass and the strings as so many had mentioned here, and i could start to hear the heart of the song revealing itself. TLDR, sorry for comparing this to Coldplay, at the time i was trying to say that i felt this was undeserving of blind hype, but at the end of the day Radiohead is Radiohead so fuck me.- 2,010 replies
