You guys should see what’s been happening with sports cards. I don’t collect them myself but keep reading about crazy gains that hobby has made since the pandemic.
Cards that were $500-1,000 a couple of years ago are going for $50k plus and there’s 12 month backlogs at the grading companies that certify condition.
Makes you count your blessings as a vinyl collector.
I casually got back into Pokemon cards 5-6 years ago, from my usual sources I could get booster boxes for about 80$, but since having a kid I've been out for a little bit but was bored the other day and went to oder one and they're 200$+ this market is insane.

I'm in Toronto. I did a short move a few years ago and used some boxes from U-haul which were a perfect size.
Edit.
I found one of the boxes in the basement and they're 12" 5/8 x 12" 5/8 x 16" 3/8. They're the size small boxes.
They're definitely the small sized boxes, I used them for my collection when we moved and they fit perfectly with just enough to get your hands in the hand holds, just make sure to tape the hell out of the bottom.

Perfect timing, I almost bit the bullet and paid markup for a copy of Casually Dressed not that long ago.

Because I never worked from home and was essential the whole time, I was offered the Moderna two shot vaccine back in January and February through work. First shot of Moderna was fine, no real symptoms except my arm hurt at point of contact. Second shot, though, I had symptoms 18-20 hours afterward. I called out of work. Had chills, was achy, feverish and fatigued. Only really lasted the day, but I was still a little lethargic the second day too. Overall, no complaints.
I won't get the second round for a few weeks, but the first one my arm was basically useless for about a day .

Just got an e-mail from Banquet that they've received stock in an underage and my PO won't be fulfilled.

I was really shocked mine was ready to be picked up within an hour, fortunately my boss is pretty cool and let me disappear from work for a little bit to pick it up.

Was finally able to order a PS5 today!
Nice! I randomly checked the Target app list Friday was able to get one; haven't played a ton but I'm enjoying Spider-Man

They should just give you all of them, even the QC ones, or at least offer you that option... throwing them away should be the last option, especially when they are numbered like this.
but that’s just like, my opinion lol
Or you know, make extras to fulfill the order...

Of course with the underages I’m not entirely sure if they picked up the yellow copies at 501 or 485. I guess time will tell as people continue to post photos. Also Fuck underages I’m so annoyed that our last two releases had underages after always having overages.
Out of curiosity, how does that resolve? Would it be on the pressing plant?

I'm getting vaccinated on Friday, and very seriously considering going. Yeah I'm scared, and know that there will be no distancing and probably very few masks; but I've got to get out of the house.

I sat in the queue for an hour and it won't even load lol.

Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place live stream
Anyone else think they might announce a new album at the end of all these live streams? I'm getting suspicious lol
5 hours ago, thenameisluigi said:That would be my guess. Finish out livestreams and maybe announce the album when they get to Lowborn and then do a livestream on or after the release date?
They confirmed on one of the first couple livestreams that they had already been on working on a new album for a while now. Don't think it's been mentioned in the more recent streams.
Album is basically already announced. Stephen jumped the gun on one of the first streams and said they were way into it and that it'd be released in 2020, the rest of the band gave him the look and he backpedaled a bit and said it'd probably be more like this year and that they were still writing.

That's awesome that she's keeping it OG with some of the studio band and touring band.
Her touring band is awesome. Amos Heller is a great bass player and complete goofball onstage.
My biggest gripe about the Rep tour is that they were all hidden in the scaffolding save for a few minutes towards the end.

Love the production on the new one over the originals country wall of sound. This new recording breaths more.
So much this.

Shit at this point we're waiting on a four album tour announcement. Hopefully my Lover Fest tickets will still apply.

Trying to hedge around production slow downs? I don't think Evermore ships until around then either.

Nice dude. Congrats! I only miss working remotely in order to avoid COVID exposure. Lucky so far on my part.
Anyone else here receive/eligible for the vaccine yet? I got my first shot last Tuesday, but initially getting the appointment here in NYC was insane. My assistant principal shared with me a portal for only NYC workers and it was the only way I got a shot. Inside an NYC government building with armed security. Wild times.
Thanks! I worked remote for years before my current position, I think it grants alot of flexibility; also since my wife works from home and we've got an infant that's a blessing in disguise.
Florida has totally fucked vaccine distribution, so at this rate I may get it in a year or two lol.

There hasn't been a Swift variant that's difficult to grab which is my point you half picked up on. Once you realize this it's easy to appreciate exact preorder drops that aren't open for a week.
It hits different when you miss a variant because you didn't know the drop time despite knowing the date. Missing something because you weren't a fan back then or didn't collect vinyl is definitely not an indicator for how hard it was to get.
Touche, I stand corrected.

Good news update. Accepted an offer for a full time remote position with a fast growing startup, formalized my exit of big corporate just a few minutes ago. Can't wait to be back in an agile organization.

It's dumb if it isn't updated, but calling it dumb to swap the title from "soon" to "NOW" when something drops is hardly dumb. I guess it helps if your taste is basically just massive pop albums where preorder Swiftness doesn't matter, but to most of us it's appreciated.
Unless Ms. Swift is involved in that pre-order and you miss on the 50 billion variants you'll inevitably need to collect them all Pokemon style.

Was out of town last week but got a shipping notification for Tear Us Apart.
Paper Tigers stream was as okay as I expected it to be, but I've never been super crazy about New Surrender.

Got lucky and had a full time remote position at a direct competitor fall into my lap this week, had the second interview this afternoon, hopefully all pans out.
