Happy Birthday, Brian!

Thanks to the T-Mobile Tuesdays app, I got a $20 Stubhub credit and put it toward a ticket for case/lang/veirs on Friday. I ended up only paying $17 out of pocket and list price on the ticket is $59. I wasn't planning on going to the show because it was so pricy, but looks like I'll be going now.

The release date is supposed to be August 26th.

She doesn't have a bad album. You can really start anywhere. Maybe Middle Cyclone or Fox Confessor. Also check out The New Pornographers. She does lead vocals on some of their songs. I'm sure John and Kevin will be here soon to chime in too. They're both pretty big Neko Case fans.

It's part of a local $5 concert series. He's acutaly the opener for Peter, Bjorn & John, which is kind of strange.

It ended up being a really great show. I hate the venue, but it was nice to see Modest Mouse again. They played a nice mix of songs. Lots of Moon & Antarctica, including What People Are Made of, which they haven't played live since 2002. I'll be there at the end of July/early August for The Avett Brothers, The National, and LCD Soundsystem. I can't wait.

I know :\ Last time I saw Modest Mouse here was about 6 years ago at the first Twilight show after they moved it to Pioneer Park. They were expecting like 15-20k people to show up and there were 50-60k. It was a madhouse. People knocking over fences to get in and the crowd was just awful. Security was severely understaffed. Near the end of the show some 300lb+ guy jumped on stage and started running at Isaac. Isaac held his guitar like a baseball bat ready to swing at this guy's face. the guy got scared, turned around, and jumped into the crowd. On his way in the kicked my friend in the back of the head and she was bleeding pretty bad. Isaac said his "fuck yous" and stormed off stage. I thought they'd never play here again after that show. Hopefully this show ends up being a better experience.

I'm going to see Brand New/Modest Mouse tonight. I hope the crowd isn't too terrible.

The new album from The Well comes out on October 14th! So excited for this one.

They didn't play Disintegration at my show, but we did get A Forest, One Hundred Years, and Fascination Street. The woman behind me brought her seven year old daughter, and she knew the words and screamed along to pretty much every song they played that night. It was adorable.

If it were me, I'd massively thin down my collection by about 80-90% and only keep the records that really mean the most to me. Shipping is going to add up fast when you're transporting everything you own to another country.

Man, if I ever owned that there's no way I'd ever let it go for any amount.
