  1. I was taking a break from vinyl when most of these released. Luckily I found a shop that had them, The downside was that the shop was 50 miles from my house. Regardless, I ran down there and got clear copies of Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Dots and Loops, Cobra & Phases, and Mars Audiac Quintet. plus I got Transient Random Noise Bursts a couple weeks ago from a store closer to home. I'm 0/5 on the scratch offs though. I'm going to take my Copy of Dots and Loops to their SLC show on Tuesday to see if I can get it signed.
  2. For anyone that's seen them on tour thus far, what was their merch selection like? Did they have any of the new reissues on clear? I haven't been on here in a while and missed out on the pre orders. I'm hoping I can pick them up when they play here.
  3. I'm about to go grab a Crunchwrap. Anyone want anything while I'm there?
  4. Secret Santa lives on! A couple days ago there was a package from Bullmoose at my door. I haven't ordered a record in a long time so I was a bit confused. Turns out it was another record from my Secret Santa. He told me in the letter that it was coming, and it still caught me off guard It was a copy of Unwritten Law's self titled. I listened to this band a ton when I was a teenager, so this was a cool blast from the past. Thanks again ozfacter!
  5. Glad you liked everything and that the package got to you intact!
  6. Haha. You said in the not that I'd probably forget about the second package before it showed up, and looks like you were right.
  7. I ended up waiting until christmas to open my gift. Here it is! It was a gigantic package, and first thing inside was a nice handwritten note. Inside were some individually wrapped gifts. I started with the 7" mailer. Inside were two Pearl Jam singles that I didn't have yet, a signed Menzingers single (!), a Horror section EP, and a single by Nothington. Inside the 12" mailer was a "Jungle Love single by The Time, and album by Sundowner, and a greatest hits album from David Bromberg. There was also a boatload of stickers and CDs! And finally, in the last present was a die cast miniature of a BMW K1300S motorcycle. I'll be taking it tow work to put on my desk with my other miniatures, because I'm just a big child. Haha. My Secret Santa said in the note that the Menzingers are local for him, so that narrows my Santa down to Philadelphia. My Santa must have been ozfacter! Thanks so much dude, you nailed it! It was a good mix of stuff I love and stuff I haven't listened to yet. I've heard good things about the Menzingers for years, but have never listened to them. I was spinning that single yesterday and loved it. I'll be digging deeper into their discography for sure now. I haven't had a chance to listen to everything else yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again!
  8. Mine showed up today! I'm holding off opening it for now, but maybe when I get home from work tonight...
  9. Here's my about me, updated from last year's thread My name is Jared. I'm 27 and I live in Salt Lake City. I'm into all sorts of music. I love 90s indie (labels like Elephant 6, UP, etc), shoegaze, stoner/doom metal, folk/americana (especially with female vocals), post rock, ambient, Electronic, post-punk, jazz, and everything in between. Some of my favorite bands are Pavement, Built to Spill, The Radio Dept., Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Mogwai, Low, Radiohead, Ty Segall, The Microphones/Mount Eerie, Melvins, Jason Isbell, Eagle Twin, LCD Soundsystem, Wilco, Guided by Voices, Earth, Neil Young, and many more. Here's my Discogs page for reference As for other activities, I'm a big car/motorcycle guy. I love anything vintage European and Japanese. Someday, I'd love to restore a BMW 2002 and build a custom cafe racer style bike (out of an old BMW airhead or Honda CB). It's just a pipe dream for now though. I go to a lot of car meets/cruises/shows with my brother in his 78 Classic Mini (the link isn't his car, but you get the idea). I also help friends work on their cars. It's a fun hobby. I haven't been buying many records lately because all my money is going toward building a sleeper BMW M3 sedan. Here's a link documenting the build, if you're into cars and want to give it a read. I haven't been a lot in the last few years, but I love snowboarding in the winter. I'm hoping to make it up the mountain a lot more in the coming months. I go to a ton of shows. I average about two or three a week. I love traveling for shows when I can. I try to make a trip over to Red Rocks every summer. I'm hoping to travel more often. Whenever I'm somewhere new, I try and stop by a record store and ask the clerk for some local band recommendations. I love buying cool local music. Maybe you could include some of your favorite local bands or maybe your band if you're in one. Like any other young adult, play video games (PS4/Xbox One/Nintendo Switch) and watch a lot of movies/TV. Some favorite shows are Arrested Development, Orphan Black, The Good Place, The IT Crowd, Danger 5, 30 Rock, Stranger Things, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Silicon Valley, etc. I'm not super picky, so I'm sure I'll love whatever I'm given. Thanks! Here's my Instagram if it helps.
  10. Aww yes! Hopefully I can sneak out of work to grab a copy from Graywhale tomorrow.

  12. Why didn't you buy it back from your insurance company before it went to auction?
  13. I'm in. Just sent the cash. I'll buy another set of squares if we don't get enough people.
  14. On the home screen, click your icon on the top left for your page and it will show your name and friend code. That's also where you go to add a friend. Mine is SW-3748-6157- 5981 for anyone that wants to add me
  15. Still can't get my car to start after the engine/drivetrain swap. Fahk.
  16. Finally seeing Sleep tomorrow and SubRosa is opening. It's going to be killer!
  17. I've been loving the Switch. I picked one up a few months ago before a vacation with a lot of travel time. I've kind of fallen out of gaming lately, but the Switch has pulled me right back in. I love being able to take it into work on a slow day and play some Mario Kart with coworkers. I've been playing tons of Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Golf Story, and Stardew Valley. I've got some Gamestop credit, so I might pick up Xenoblade Chronicles next. I'm also excited for the ports of all the great Wii U games I missed. It's such a smart move on Nintendo's part to rerelease them now that the Switch is such a hit. I need Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze!
  18. Oh man, I loved this. Glad you liked the records and the fortune teller fish, haha. Graywhale is a record store here in Salt Lake City, and where I bought most of these records. I'm right there with you in the love for Kamasi Washington's new EP. I got to see him play a couple times each year, and I was completely mesmerized each time. Him and his band are incredible. If you havne't already, check out his album The Epic. It's a cool 3xLP set and it completely lives up to its' name. I wanted to grab you a copy instead of the EP, but couldn't find it locally. Glad you enjoyed everything!
  19. Hey guys, I just listed a bunch of records for sale on Reddit. If any of you are interested in anything, I'll cut you a nice deal. EDIT: Oh man, the link automatically embedded and I don't know how to remove it. Sorry about that :/
  20. I finally opened my package! Lots of gifts wrapped in Star Wars wrapping paper and a very nice note. First gift was a Hot Wheels BMW 2002. It's one of my dream cars. I'd love to restore one some day. This is now proudly sitting parked at my desk with a few other cars so I can daydream. Next is an issue of Iron & Air magazine. Technically, it's a magazine, but it's super nice quality. It's about a half inch thick and bound like a book. I've flipped through it and it looks really cool. I'm excited to dive in more. Third present is a little Honda keychain. This is definitely going on my set of motorcycle keys. Next is a couple of Jack White/White Stripes singles. I've got a ton of Third Man stuff, and my Santa managed to find a couple that I didn't already have. Nice! And finally, a tri color copy of Turnover's first album. I asked for some local bands to be included, and this was the one my Santa chose, so they must be from Virginia. I haven't heard this album yet, but I loved Peripheral Vision, so I'm sure this is going to be awesome. Based on the clues, my Santa has to be Shane. Thanks so much dude, you nailed it with this package. I love it!
  21. Oh man. I finally get to see Sleep next month. They just announced a show here. So excited!
