  1. Also, did you guys see there's a pink copy of Communal Blood for sale? I guess all of them have the exact same black streaks in the disc because my copy looks identical. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221301606582
  2. I think I am just gonna pass on this. The cover art is horrendous and I have never been happy with how MBR releases sound. Will probably just go the digital route
  3. For a poop brown colour this disc is surprisingly pretty
  4. a few hours left on Images & Words by Dream Theater (red/gold swirl) and Music For the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games by Mike Oldfield
  5. Mine arrived today, the red is wicked. Translucent and subtle marbling, photos don't do it justice but: http://i.imgur.com/gSzskKW.jpg
  6. if you are buying them for slim 10" sleeves, the sleevie-wonder ones are fine but if you want them for fatter sleeves (like the Radiohead 10" gatefolds), these are the only ones I've found that fit. They are pretty snug on gatefolds though.
  7. It helps that wages are so good in Australia. 10 hours of work for me is nearly $250, and 10 hours wages is the most I am willing to spend on a single record
  8. Did someone here win the Solace test press? Didn't think it'd go that high, oh well
  9. I just like the large format artwork and I think the bass reproduction on my records sounds better than most MP3s I have
  10. gonna plug Bass Communion. One of Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree)'s solo projects where he releases his ambient/drone material. this one is my current favourite, and PT fans will recognise it from Lips of Ashes: 43553E99.01 second favourite sounds like it could be ambient noise in an Elder Scrolls game: Glacial 1602 Drugged (long version) Loss I generally prefer the ones that have some sort of melody going on, the drone stuff isn't as interesting for me. some drone-y tracks include Pacific Codex, Corrosive 1702, Citadel and Ghosts on Magnetic Tape. the former style is mostly present on Bass Communion I, II and III, and the newer drone-oriented albums feature the occasional nice track
  11. yep. I'm unsure if they pressed 5 copies or *released* 5 copies to the public though
  12. I was the one who bought it anyway I got a clear copy like a week after I posted this thread
  13. You reckon? I am pretty sure there was at least a couple hundred people there. The Zoo isn't really the best venue though, it's TOO casual
  14. it takes two random characters from your username and puts one on each end of the asterisks
  15. Screw Australian postage forever. Thanks for the Saansilo LP, still can't believe how fat the gatefold is this dude is a good dude for sure
  16. I saw these guys live in March, it was so good. Pretty much exactly the same set, but sadly without The Mighty Rio Grande. It's crazy how loud Little Smoke gets. Just as you think it can't get any bigger they throw another layer on top of it, it's hectic. I think They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light is my favourite track of theirs at the moment, Communal Blood and Threads not far behind
  17. i dunno, my cat doesn't do any of those things. he is pretty rad and a total softie. people who hate cats just haven't met the right cat
  18. Brookvale confirmed this was happening ages ago, in the comments on their I&W page
