  1. I did. Got it last week and agree with everything you said. its awesome. Not only does it kick ass and sound amazing on vinyl, but the packaging is truly beautiful. I don't know how much input Tom or the band actually has with the art direction and packaging, but the last Celtic Frost and last Teiptykon records were also awesome as far as packaging goes.
  2. Man I completely forgot about this show, coming up until I saw my buddy posting about it on facebook as they were going onstage. Guess ill order now.
  3. Your receiver doesn't seem too bad as far as startups go. Just the fact that its a two channel receiver means it probably sounds better than the fancy schmancy Marantz Surround sound receiver I was using at the time. The Speakers could be a whole other story though as i'm not too familiar with Cerwin Vega. I was using the marantz along with Pioneer SP-BS21-LR speakers which can be purchased for $100-$125 for the pair. The setup I had definitely sounded much better with the Preamp I bought. I'm actually thinking about selling it. I currently have no use for it and don't see myself needing it anytime in the near future. If you are interested shoot me a message.
  4. A good external preamp or good integrated amp can make a world of difference. Upgrading the cartridge can help as well. what kind of receiver and speakers are you using? I had an AT- LP120 running through a marantz surrond sound receiver. I was not thrilled with the sound at all. I purchased a Cambridge audio Azur 551p preamp from amazon and the sound was like night and day compared to the internal preamp in the AT. I was finally as happy as I could be with the sound I was getting with my equipment at the time. Much warmer, and louder as well.
  5. What kind of receiver do you have? I also agree with looking into upgrading the cartridge depending on what you have now. Also if you can spend an extra hundred, maybe look into the KAB-EV1 for cleaning your records. I've had one for a month now and truly love it. Does an amazing job of making those dusty old records sound near mint in most cases.
  6. I don't find this hard to believe at all. 2500 is pretty low between the two rabid fan bases IMO. Especially on the sunny day side. I've never had any real interest in participating in RSD since twice a week, 52 weeks a year is already RSD for me. Then the SDRE / Circa split was announced and that's all I could think about until I owned that new SDRE song on vinyl.
  7. Thanks for the headsup on the Burning Airlines releases NIHAC! Ordered! I also stopped by the Dischord Records office today and went on a J. Robbins spending spree. Picked up both Channels records, The Office of Future Plans full length, and two Jawbox represses all on colored vinyl all of which you can order from Dischord now. Very cool icing on the cake was Meeting Melissa Quinley from the band Soccer Team who i am a fan of, who was helping in the office. She gave me an amazing Fugazi poster and Soccer Team poster as well. Pretty much one of the most awesomely geeky 10 minutes of the last year for sure.
  8. I just ordered mission control and identikit from stiff slack records in Japan for $60 shipped this past Friday. Only color they have left for mission is blue vinyl. Identikit is available in maroon marble vinyl. They won't be around for long though. Definitely wanting those two Walter releases.
  9. Just wondering, Has everyone received their vinyl from the kickstarter fund?
  10. I feel the same way. The reunion shows were so fucking great. They seemed to really be enjoying themselves and having a good time. When they announced a new record being written and recording sessions I was so so damn excited. Then nothing..... Just crushed. Hearing the new song just made all those feelings come back again. In some weird way I'd hope that those guys, noticing all the love that the new song is receiving, would light a fire in them and give them the desire to try it one more time but I'm pretty sure that's an incredibly hopeless long shot.
  11. Bump. Changed topic because a fellow VC'er hooked me up with the Paramore release bump. Still looking for Veruca Salt. Thanks!
  12. Bump. Added a few items I have for trade. Thanks!
  13. I feel exactly the same way. I love Chuck, but this is easily my least favorite release of his in any way shape or form. I love his other solo records because of the Americana, bluegrass style. This one is too country bar band for me.
  14. Picked up: Sunny Day Real Estate / Circa Survive split 7" Off! 7" Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Glorious results of a misspent Youth Johnny Cash with his hot and blue guitar Slipknot - Vol 3 subliminal verses 311 s/t 311 evolver Ghost busters 10" If anyone has an extra Veruca Salt or Paramore RSD 2014 release they wouldn't mind parting with, please give me a shout.
  15. Please PM if you have these and would be willing to sell at a decent price. I have a few things for trade as well. I have Torche Meanderthal on egg yolk vinyl, and Chuck Ragan Till Midnight on blue vinyl. Ill even throw in the Chuck Ragan t shirt, size x large and never worn in with it. Thanks!
  16. Belgian Black Metal band Enthroned returns with a new record. I really like these guys. The few tunes Ive heard are pretty brutal. good stuff. only 100 hand numbered copies of bone-white vinyl with a fat, green splatter. came out to $38 dollars shipped to USA from europe. https://www.agoniarecords.com/index.php?pos=shop〈=en&section=article&action=article&id=ARlp115_b
  17. I'm happy just to own them but the color would have been nice. I've been spinning them since this afternoon and they sound awesome.
