I hope I'm not the only person still listening to Valis.

Yeah, that cover is pretty bad, unfortunately. That Linkin Park comparison is on point.

Neanderthal reacted to radiatorhums in PO: Prurient "Frozen Niagara Falls"
I've racked up enough Bullmoose points to get the LP for 50% off
I'm sure it is limited.

Same here. I was out of town when King Woman came through earlier this month, I'm surprised to see them (her?) back so soon. Didn't expect Planning for Burial to make it to the west coast anytime soon either, so that's just a double bonus.

Yeah I tried to find the meaning of MC on Midheaven's site. Thanks for the info Kurtz!
I just hope the packaging and presentation is still on point.

It is the tape. MC = Musicassette
Hospital tapes are usually overpriced. Profound Lore releases are generally reasonably priced.
It is most likely on one 90 minute cassette.

I actually think He Never Spoke A Mumblin' Word is their best so far. Had that album on repeat for months last year. I just wish it were longer.
Mamaleek are what I'd recommend to people who don't get into the old-school black metal "philosophy" shit, but still want the mind-bogglingly bleak and dark sound that guys like Deafheaven or Liturgy don't bring.

Planning For Burial's Leaving goes up for PO next week – that's not news to anyone at this point. What you may not know is that they had to redo the album art on account of resolution issues, with the original art.
Presenting the vinyl art;
The vinyl run will be out of 500/600; 200 will be on pink vinyl, and the rest black.
Commence hype.

I'm happy this board is supporting Profound Lore. Great label.

Whoa, just found this. Mamaleek pre-order appears to be available already at Midheaven?
Check the description:
"The fifth album from Bay Area weirdos Mamaleek, Via Dolorosa is the duo’s darkest and most experimental release, incorporating black metal, psychedelia and electronic music. It is also the first Mamaleek record featuring live drums. At once harsh, frightening and beautiful, Via Dolorosa is like an evening at the darkest jazz club as it might appear in the depths of a child’s fever dream. Though the group’s two anonymous brothers hail from the San Francisco Bay Area and their work is rife with themes of death and nihilism, musically they stand apart from the city’s most well-known black metal exports (Weakling, Leviathan, et al.). Via Dolorosa features track titles inspired by traditional slave songs and incorporates melodic, Middle Eastern aesthetics. Bask in sorrow and reflect on your pitiful existence."
Aaaaaaand hype.

They seem to move all over the place in the realm of dark music. I'd recommend either Return to Annihilation or the Mamiffer collaboration as a good starting point and going from there. I haven't gotten through all their material, but I've liked almost all of it quite a bit.
