I'm very torn on this release as I adore the movie, love the score, and the packaging for this release is phenomenal! However I already own the MOV version of the soundtrack which I almost never listen to strictly because for whatever reason they decided to include full scenes of dialogue mixed in with parts of score which drives me absolutely insane. Judging by the tracklist it seems as though this is the same rather than strictly the score which is a shame. 

Mondo are releasing the soundtrack to Magnolia this year!  So excited for this!

If Mondo had sent it themselves then i'm 100% sure they would offer a replacement but it's expecting a bit much to think that they would replace it when someone else sent it! 

anyone else still waiting for Batman to ship?  I know mine was on pre-order but they have been available for weeks now & still no shipping.  But yet people are getting Cannibal Holocaust shipping notifications?  How the hell do they plan their mailouts?  Surely they should ship out orders that have been waiting for months first...?

I got a copy & its excellent.  Definitely not a boot, its the official repress from last year. 

Have to admit i just suddenly realised i still haven't had a shipping notification for SOTD.  I usually get an email within 2 weeks max.  They really shouldn't release so much stuff so close together if they can't send out in a reasonable amount of time.  Seems unfair that some people get a shipping email within a couple of days & others wait almost a month.......

Nope, which is probably why they decided to release it.
 
Seems to me that Mondo chooses to bring attention to scores/films that they think are worthy of it. Clearly they don't care if there's a demand for it, otherwise they'd ONLY release OSTs that already have an audience (JP, Drive, Halloween, etc).
 
Part of the reason I pay attention to their releases is because they shed light on good shit I didn't know existed. Hope that's okay with you.

Well i for one am over the f**king moon!  I wasn't into collecting vinyl when this first came out so missed it.  I have been looking at getting one for ages but the stupid inflated prices of £200 - £300 meant that it wasn't going to happen.  Now i can finally get a copy!  Happy days.

I firmly believe if you buy two copies of a Mondo release you're guaranteed three variants.

Fair enough, but PLEASE do a sky blue version of Vol 2, for those of us who bought Vol 1 in the other pressing colours.

the whole thing is good but the last song is awesome!

I kinda laughed at the idea of an "RSD release" of the first MGMT that had only gone OOP in the last 3 months... But when I saw it in the racks, I went ahead and grabbed it. And damn if this doesn't sound FANTASTIC. I'm not sure how the OP sounds but this repress is dead-quiet and great open sound throughout (especially considering the entire thing was probably recorded in Pro Tools). Once the prices come down, it's well worth seeking out.
 
The VU Loaded reissue also sounds nice, if not AS nice as MGMT. Solid pressing, a little sibilance on the vocals... Beautiful splatter vinyl tho.

they're good for me as i don't own many of these albums so i'm happy grabbing some of these ltd ones.
