  1. This kind of question is what people need to start flooding the label's inboxes with. Where a record is pressed and who mastered it should always be identified. Email the labels until it becomes standard release info.
  2. I'm understanding this as 'albums that were released the year you graduated', not necessarily 'pressed'. I have some that premiered in 1998 but weren't pressed to vinyl until years later. 1998 (when shitty ska and faux swing bands ruled the airwaves. A dark time indeed) • Boris - Amplifier Worship • Meat Beat Manifesto - Actual Sounds + Voices • Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane… • Fugazi - End Hits • Jeff Buckley - Sketches for My Sweeheart the Drunk • Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider • Queens of the Stone Age - s/t • Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
  3. I'm listening to Oblivion Hunter right now on Spotify and OH MY GOD HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS BAND BEFORE?!
  4. Oh shit. I was confused by the verbiage they're using on the site. I only looked at the combo pack page and noticed it said "3xLP". Didn't even notice the second record of each album. Derp.
  5. This is how I feel. They're one of my favorite bands of all time. Called in sick so I could jump on buying tickets to their first reunion show last year (which sold out in 45 seconds), but the tracks they've been releasing lately have left me a little… underwhelmed. Paying $50 for a new album from them out the gate would just be irresponsible of me. More power to those with the money to burn, I guess. If this disappears, maybe I can find someone to trade me for my sealed Shrine/Solaris 7"
  6. I love Karnivool, but I'm going to pass on these for now. These run-times concern me for audio quality on single LPs. Themata runs 48:46, not too bad. But Asymmetry runs 67:04, and Sound Awake runs 72:00! I've purchased long-sided LPs in the past that ended up sounding worse than my MP3 copies, so $110 is a lot of scratch for me to purchase just for the love of the band. I'd love to hear reports of SQ once you guys get your copies, though.
  7. Can anyone explain why Ty Segall's individual releases are spread out on so many distribution labels? Castle Face, Burger Records, Goner Records, In The Red Recordings, Drag City…
  8. Target demographic. Can't wait for pictures of purchased copies to start infesting /r/vinyl.
  9. Still no site of mine. Did you guys get shipping notifications, or was it just a surprise in the mail?
  10. I have the 2002 Oceanic on clear. I don't know how it could sound more dynamic. If we're talking about compressing/brick walling audio in mastering, the original sounds great to my ears.
  11. Here's hoping the upcoming reissues are done better. I already ordered the Ozma/Bullhead release.
  12. Right when I told myself I wasn't going to buy any records for a while. Ugh... Ordered.
  13. Wow. I purposefully didn't pursue that 10" because those songs were advertised as being on the full length. Lame. Speaking of lame, I got mine yesterday in the mail. Does anyone else think the sound quality kinda sucks?
  14. I'm also reading some reviews (Amazon, Discogs) that say the LP is missing one or two tracks from the album. Can anyone confirm?
  15. According to the SRC email I got back in October, this should have gone out Dec. 16, but my order status page is showing "awaiting fulfillment".
  16. Does it effect playback to your ears? I had the same issue but haven't played it. Might want to snap some photos and let them know. [email protected]
  17. It was actually waiting for me when I got home. Standard black. Meh, whatever, I'm still excited to own this.
  18. I, too, live in LA and I'm bummed I missed their show at The Smell, even though I need to apply menthol salve under my nose to walk into that place.
  19. Does In The Red send out shipping confirmation emails? Ordered mine at the beginning of this thread and I haven't heard peep. Doesn't help there's nowhere to check you order status on their website.
