The solo brainchild of Morgan Enos (Hheaven, Hollow Sunshine, Medium Mystic), this is Other Houses’ confident first blast as a full-fledged rock band. The jangly "Bad Ace" reveals a power-pop heart, while the anxious garage rocker "Me as Periodicals" recalls Elliott Smith. Acidic, wry, and absolutely packed with hooks, this is Other Houses’ strongest release to date, and marks a new era for Enos' prolific songwriting. Unfolding over ten songs and 45 minutes, the album ranges from beautiful, slow pop to jarring electronic loops, merging hypnotic ambient sonic soundscapes, akin to Boards of Canada, with the warmth of Mt. Eerie-esque bedroom compositions, resulting in a unique and fascinating musical statement.
