  1. Price up what the parts will cost but also check the arm because if the bearings are worn and you discover anything else wrong then the costs to put it right start creeping toward one that was good in the first place. Make sure you check the speed stability and behaviour when you adjust the pitch That said they do hold their value well so any SL1200 for $150 is a good start and you have to be lucky to find one being offered at that price regardless of condition.
  2. Agreed this is a stunning sounding amp for the money but they do run hot so it wants to have been looked after If you can get nothing else then as Slinch says there is nothing wrong with it but there is better out there for the money, I get that if you have to have something shipped an amp that is local and you can hear before handing over the cash is always a bit safer.
  3. I was too slow on that one but thanks anyway. Tried another one from earlier in the thread but that didn't work.
  4. Should I do the obvious Riot one or is it a bit early as it hasn't been repressed yet?
  5. with record cleaning and certain other fun pursuits, If it don't suck it just blows
  6. I love Kuzma, I had a Kuzma Stogi arm on a Voyd Valdi and it's definitely an arm I wish I still had.
  7. I've been pretty laid back about this feeling that what arrives will be fine and it will get here when it does. For my first 2 orders BKR_Mark PM'd me about them without me even asking him to and told me they were complete apart from an LP I had tried to add over the phone, the site also says my first order is dispatched and I've had an email notification for that one. From what I can see the response to the sale has been massive so check on the website or drop them a line.
  8. In general not bad but if pushed I would have to say mixed, some are good rips and some are not so good. I have heard a lot worse boots recently though

  10. Couldn't help myself just placed another order for another 17 LP's
  11. Congrats on your new TT and this one above for ease of use and sound quality per $
  12. For all potential European buyers I have just added 2 to my cart on the website as a test and it put shipping as $30 each!!
  13. Was going to order but the website looks pretty clear that it is black and says online exclusive, could the red ones be an in store exclusive?
  14. where quality and ingenuity don't quite meet, nice.
  15. Mine arrived here in the UK yesterday, first I've heard by them so am glad I pre ordered and got the 7" and will be looking out for more by the band. There seem to be plenty of the green vinyl release here in the UK so I expect I will end up buying one to play so I don't wear out the pink copy by playing it too much.
  16. If you are really stuck you could ship it in a 12" mailer by cutting a 7x7 hole in a 12x12 sheet of card and putting the 7" in the hole. You would need a good method of making sure it stays in the 7x7 hole though.
  17. No problem and good luck with it, they are a perfectly good turntable so hopefully you can save it.
  18. Sell my records? I would rather shove wasps up my arse!! I only sell my spares and I regret most of those.
  19. If it's ok on 45 and it only has one speed control pot then the pot is ok and the problem is in the section of the power supply that deals with 33rpm. All electronics of this vintage has electrolytic capacitors that dry out with age so I expect that is where the problem is. If you are ok with electronics fault finding or know someone who is then you will be fine otherwise you might want to move it on and replace it.
  20. My first order #537175 has shipped and I think I got all I ordered, that makes full a full fat WooHoo indeed
