  1. Got my pink in today. Kinda wish I'd have waited for the beer, as it would save me about $10, but oh well. Spinning it now, it sounds really good.
  2. Yeah, I just checked some of their other releases and on many stock numbers are negative, yet they're still available to buy, so it probably doesn't mean much. It's just that I had some pretty poor experiences ordering from invada and would prefer to get this someplace else.
  3. Now this is what I've been waiting for! Was there any mention of these being limited? Because stock shows less than 200 of each and less than 150 of the combo.
  4. Out on VOD as of today. Planning to watch it tonight. I've read mixed things, but I'm a sucker for heavily stylized visual storytelling, so I have high hopes for it.
  5. Was about to say. What are those, made of some old couches or something?
  6. Yeah no thanks. I mean, I might regret it later, but none of their releases so far screamed "premium", and $57 shipped for a 150g 2xLP of tracks I don't know is too rich for my blood.
  7. In that case the Pro-Ject Phono Box USB V should do the trick. Sure it's got the added USB feature, which you might not have the need to, but there aren't many alternatives in that price range.
  8. The Regas are a very good value over here in EU, the Planar 1 is a great choice. You don't need an amp, you only need a phono pre-amp. This means the onkyo is out, as it's a stereo amplifier, it's main job is what's already inside your genelecs. The Pro-Ject Pre Box S is just a line level pre-amp, it doesn't include a phono stage, which you need for your turntable, so it's out as well. The A/D Phono Box S is a phono pre-amp and a analog-to-digital converter combined, the first part is what you need, the second part is used to record your records to a computer. If you don't plan on doing this, then you're better off just buying a phono pre-amp without any additional functionality. There's a lot of choices: Project Phono Box Mk2 - 100€ Rega Fono Mini - 130€ Vincent PHO-200 - 130€ Project Phono Box S - 150€ NAD PP2 - 150€ Musical Fidelity V90-LPS - 160€ Project Phono Box III - 160€ Thorens MM002 - 190€ Project Phono Box DS - 200€ If you can afford to, go for the Phono Box DS. It will be a great pair for the Rega Planar. As for using multiple sources, the least expensive solution is to use an RCA switch, like this: https://www.amazon.de/HQ-ASWITCH-3-3-Fach-Stereo-eingangsschalter/dp/B000I8OOS8/ref=sr_1_1?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1497127515&sr=1-1&keywords=rca+switch
  9. Say what now? The 2001 Josie and the Pussycats? Can my wallet get any thinner?
  10. You're fine. As long as it still picks up the tonearm at the end of the record when you lift the lever, it's doing its job. As for the torpedo, I guess you mean something like this? https://www.google.si/search?q=torpedo+level&rlz=1C1GIGM_enSI548SI548&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwig2tjIj6TUAhXIE5oKHRCyCZ8Q_AUICigB&biw=1536&bih=736 If it's magnetic it won't damage anything. But don't measure it by lowering the tonearm on a record and then putting this level on top of the tonearm. The extra weight can destroy your needle. Again, you don't really have to measure this at all because it is factory set to be the proper height.
  11. Actually, it just might be too short. You're never going to need to drop the needle this close to the spindle, because minus a small few, most records don't have any music on the center label.
  12. Looks like your support lever is bent, but cannot really see it in the video. This part right here should be perfectly horizontal.
  13. Managed to miss it for a second time. :/ Though there's been some chatter that other EU retailers might get the same steel soon.
  14. Haha, yeah, I'm waiting for a statue that I paid for in April 2015, expected release was Q1 2016. It got pushed back at least a dozen times, now it's supposed to drop late July 2017, but I'm still not gonna hold my breath. So a six month push for Ramona is easy mode.
  15. See I thought Strange Desire kinda died down in the second half, and I feel the same about this one. Perhaps it's more of a grower, but it feels a bit uneven after a couple of listens. But I Miss Those Days and Don't Take The Money alone are good enough to warrant a purchase.
  16. You have to send in the CA cart to get it retipped, but that's $500+ (assuming you have the Virtuoso that came with it). The only alternative is to buy a different (cheaper) cart until you decide to get the CA one fixed. I quite like the Grado Prestige series on my clearaudio,
  17. Don't listen to vinyl addict, you don't need to check the VTA, it is factory set and since you still have the original cartridge on there it will be fine. And since you cannot change the VTA anyway, you're more likely to damage something than to do any good. Don't worry about the table being perfectly level either, if it's uneven it will have a negative effect on the turntable bearing in the long run, but it definitely won't affect how your records sound. The tonearm moves slightly left/right and up/down during play because records aren't perfect. It's totally fine and you don't need to worry about it. The "bright" sound, from the setup you listed, could very well be the sony's fault. If it's an old receiver from the late 80s or early 90s (a model number would help), those often sound overly bright. The ortofon cartridge also isn't known as a well balanced performer, but it's to be expected from an entry level cart.
  18. Definite buy for me, just need to see if any EU retailer will carry it.
  19. Funnily enough it's still almost $10 cheaper to have it sent from amazon DE to US.
  20. No idea where the GZ notion came from, though honestly I too assumed it was GZ. I just checked and it was actually pressed at MPO.
