Is this really collectible status? I mean, there are 900+ of them printed, and this already has hundreds of pressings. You're paying close to 50 bucks for it, shipped... how much return do you really expect to get down the road? 
 
I was tempted to grab it since I actually don't own the album yet but that starting price is absurd. 

checked a minute ago and it was at 265 in stock, now its at 295 

It's all about the limited nature of it. If I really wanted just the album for it's music, I can go on Discogs right now and get a mint graded copy for less than half what Newbury is asking for this release. About $15ppd.
As soon as these sell out you'll see them all over ebay with $100 price tags and people will still buy them.

I feel like stretching a one LP album onto 2 LPs and charging twice the cost would be more of a "shameless cash grab".

I agree with the 24.99...I would have considered at that price. Not no $40+ after ship 

just under 1000 copies.. i dont see this selling out fast, but maybe I am wrong.. bunch of yellow boots and picture discs floatin around to satiate the crazies.. 24.99 would have probably grabbed it.
