  1. I agree with the post above. I have the C325BEE and I like it a lot and it's a great bang for the buck. I compared them at the audio store and I would say the CA has more detail on the high end while the NAD had a warmer sound with a more robust low end. CA was also more expensive.
  2. I was in Newbury Comics 2 mins after they opened and they were already sold out. They only got in like 3 or 4 copies.
  3. I wonder why they are skipping Boston on this tour. I know they've played here a bunch of times, but they should come back.
  4. Only if I know the words haha. I'll sing along anywhere except work. I sing especially loud in the car.
  5. Yeah, my speakers (JBLs) are the same way and I just bought banana clips from Best Buy so I could plug them in. Works just fine for me. Yeah, I just use the bare wire. Just thread some of it through the hole when you unscrew the connection at the speaker and then tighten it. Don't go crazy spending money on speaker wire. From what I've read, you won't be able to tell a difference unless you are using ridiculously expensive equipment (20 grand maybe). Even then it's a very minor difference, if any. I get mine from Radio shack for under 10 bucks. Best Buy never has any cheap speaker wire, only Monster which is a total ripoff.
  6. This was awesome (apologies to the guy above if he couldn't get a ticket). He played for an hour and a half, mostly Gaslight songs. Covered Springsteen - Atlantic City, Dylan, Bouncing Souls, and whoever wrote that Once Upon a Time song. Good crowd, not obnoxious or anything, just having a good time. He said he was taping for Letterman with the band today (Monday).
  7. This happened to me in the Fall. Maybe half a dozen cars in a row with their windows smashed right outside a venue in Hartford. Ipod stolen along with my stereo's faceplate. Of course just a faceplate is useless. Luckily insurance enabled me to buy a new Ipod with minimal damage on the car.
  8. I'll be going but I can't believe this sold out at all, let alone this far in advance. The band didn't even sell out downstairs with Polar Bear Club over the summer.
  9. First off I am a huge Thursday fan so maybe I'm a little biased. On first listen this is really awesome. It seemed louder than a lot of the last record but still has its quiet moments. I know it's only a 128 rip but I can already tell I like the production better than ACBLD. After only having it a day I can't make too many judgments but I can already tell it's not disappointing in the least.
  10. Dude, I was on tour there back in April, and they oversold the show, provided zero barricades and zero security. Flood was there, too, he can vouch for it. I was there for the Thursday show last month and there was no barrier. Though security was running around getting kids off the stage. They actually did a really good job keeping things under control. Also, I was in the 21+ section where I could see the band easily without getting packed in like a sardine. To the guy complaining about getting to the new HOB in Boston during Sox games... Take the train. Much easier since it is impossible to go anywhere near there during a game. If it's on a Fri/Sat w/o a game, take the train too because parking will still be difficult. I'm thinking this place will have higher ticket prices and from what I can tell there is no place to buy tickets without fees at a box office. Basically I'm bitter because they got rid of Avalon/Axis and this place will be bigger than both of them.
  11. Sorry, can't help you. I bought it last week at the show but there's no download with it. Good stuff though.
  12. Yeah, definitely named Matthew McConaughey's Wooderson in Dazed and Confused who says alright alright maybe a hundred times in the movie. Great flick. "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."
  13. Why are these going for so much? The ones that recently sold are not the first pressing and per deadformat there are over a 1000 of each.
  14. Owen is good stuff. It looks like he's doing a little east coast swing. I've only seen him headline and play a long set once. I wish he would put a backup band together and do a big tour with them but it looks like that will never happen.
  15. This will cost me $23.99 with shipping. I already have the Beatles cover cd. I think I'm going to pass.
  16. There aren't too many but I regret seeing Kevin Devine/Jesse Lacey because it sold out a day before I got tickets. Oceansize. I had a test or something the next day and thought I'd catch them next time. That was like 5 years ago and they haven't been back to the US since. Trail of Dead/Explosions in the Sky. At a small venue in like 2002. Sold out by the time I found out about it.
  17. Newbury Comics for new stuff. 30% off vinyl this weekend by the way. There's a bunch of stores in the area. The new Faneuil Hall location is nice, but I like the Fresh Pond location because it's bigger. Cheapo Records seems anything but from my experience. I like In Year Ear on Comm Ave for classic rock. Another location in Harvard Sq. Looney Tunes - near Harvard Sq on Mass Ave. Haven't found much stuff to my liking there Deja Vu Records - 25 mins from Boston in Natick. A ton of stuff from classical, jazz, to classic rock. Most of it is just everywhere and not alphabetized and with no prices. You can get a lot of good stuff for good prices if you want to dig around though.
  18. I'm not too familiar with the Get Up Kids but in Boston I know he played Central Standard Time and closed with Mass Pike. Make sure you get there early enough to see Kevin Devine!
  19. I'm glad this is happening. I'm pretty sure it won't be a big tour or anything, but I hope they do a little east coast swing and get to Boston.
  20. Selective Wreckage comes out 9/30. I plan on getting the Troubled Stateside this weekend. So pumped to see these guys headline. from their myspace "lastly, SELECTIVE WRECKAGE is pressed and ready to go. We'll be releasing a song or two from this tomorrow and probably playing one or two of these songs live at the upcoming shows. for those of you wondering what SELECTIVE WRECKAGE is all about, it's basically a mini b-sides record covering all the unreleased recordings that were done between THE TROUBLED STATESIDE and IS DEAD. honestly, it sounds like Stateside Jr. there's 2 great songs on there that were DEAD outtakes that sound like they should've been on that record, but the rest of it is really Stateside Jr, so if that's your jam, this should be right up your alley."
  21. The Worcester Palladium holds 2,100 ish, and yes the sound is generally muddy. I think it makes a big difference where you are standing too. I find if you're near the soundboard is the best, naturally. Merch can range just like anywhere depending on who's playing. I can't imagine t-shirts going for more than 15 or cd's more than 10-12 on this tour. So excited for this lineup too.
  22. This is awesome. Much better than I expected. It's nice to see it finally being released since the project has been talked about for years.
