Does anyone know if these 45rpm pressings were cut "analog," like the Classic Records issues?

Or were they transferred to Hi-Res digital first, like the Led Zeppelin reissues?

These reissues (the first wave, at least) were cut from hi-res digital files. While some think they sounded good, the general consensus on the Steve Hoffman Forums is that the Classic Records releases blow these out of the water.

Another disappointing aspect is that with the announcement of the second wave, it would appear they are skipping over a lot of the other albums, such as Passion (easily one of his best works), Secret World Live, Ovo, etc. Would've been great to have reissues of those on vinyl.

Personally, I think the first four reissues sound pretty good. It's nice to have pristine copies of his albums, but at the same time, I really wish they would have gone the extra mile and did all analog cuts so that these could be the best versions of the albums ever released (I'm not sure if US and Up were recorded digitally or analog, though).

Right, that wasn't really my point.

Again, the point of my speculative post (which has not been mentioned anywhere else in this thread) is why they have more copies of their masters.   They don't dub 50 master reals of a record and store them.   I was simply trying to connect the dots between why they would include pieces of master reels not of the album the box set contains and the fact that reissues of their albums are on the way....by speculatively stating, they wouldn't arbitrarily create copies of their master reels as they only use them for so many passes on the tape-heads....so if they've used them recently, it's not crazy that they would've used them for sourcing for the new pressings coming out while dubbing new masters.

which I only bring up at all because of the decent amount of folks here who have gripes with the capital vault reissues that previously came out....perhaps these new represses will sound more inline with the original parlophone pressings

According to someone at Reddit, XL just bought some of the Capitol stock and is putting XL stickers on them. Might not be true but it doesn't sound too improbable. Maybe future pressings will be cut from the masters like you said, but I doubt it :/

Regarding the deluxe edition, if you had access to a reel to reel player, would it be possible to find out what snippet you got or would the pieces be too short?

What are the odds that Radiohead's website isn't going to crash at 2pm tomorrow?

I don't remember there being any issues when TKOL went up.

I'll also be very surprised if the special edition is very limited since it seems like anyone who wanted the In Rainbows/TKOL deluxe editions were able to get them with no problem.

  4. Just preordered through th Import CDs site. Looks like there was a huge price jump on Amazon UK. Is Import CDs pretty reliable? I think $27 is fair. Will cancel if Bullmoose has this.

Everything I've ordered from ImportCDs has arrived fine. I've never pre ordered anything from them, however.

Bull Moose does have this btw -- looks like a spelling error. http://www.bullmoose.com/p/22582798/killers-hot-fuzz-import-gbr
