I recently bought a sealed copy of Beck's Modern Guilt, but it sustained some sleeve damage during shipping. Nothing major, but it has some creases on the edges. I didn't get a copy, stupidly, during the first release because I didn't think it would sell out at every retailer within a year. Now, no one wants to sell their copy.

I just got the last copy of Salad Days.

That's what I plan on doing if they won't work with me. I've offered to eat 1/2 of the shipping cost, which I think is more than fair. It's just mind-blowing that they would ship an LP overseas with almost zero consideration of the packaging.

My copy of Beck's Modern Guilt arrived yesterday afternoon (bought from amazon uk - seller was UniquePlace-UK - shipped from Switzerland). It took a week and a half longer than the projected delivery date, no tracking was provided, and it was packaged in a cardboard envelope that was bent in half. Every corner was bent, along with a nice big crease down the middle of the jacket. The seller is offering to refund me 1/3 of what I paid for it. This is absurd. Avoid this seller at all costs.

They're also listing on Discogs with considerably cheaper prices than ccvinyl.com.

I bought a $25 record for myself (which was also in shit shape), not MBV. After selling fees, I didn't intend (or expect) to make more than that. And I don't feel bad for that. On a board full of people who flip short-run records like it's going out of style, I'm the one who's getting vilified?

Sure, if they continue to price their vinyl low on ccmusic I will definitely stick with em. But something tells me that this is their way of raising prices to, basically, normal retail price or higher. Their current prices are the reason I give them so much of my money. Now this should be interesting. Every record that I've ordered (on 3 occasions) directly from ImportCDs has arrived in, what is essentially, a flimsy cardboard envelope, with corner/edge wear & creases.

I mean, you're right on the money! I've never even set foot into an UO (I haven't been to a mall in... goddamn... a decade), and I didn't think it would be as bad as everyone said it was. I was obviously wrong. I'm returning everything. I just wish that everyone else would return this garbage & slowly put this company out of business.

I bought 5 copies of MBV in order to pay for the one LP that I purchased for myself. I had no intentions of flipping for profit. I knew that the marketplace would quickly be filled with $20 copies after this sale, and as long as my album was paid for, I didn't care what the MBV sold for.

With Beck finally winning the Grammy, I can't image that a repress of most of his discography is too far off. They have to be aware that they are losing money to bootleggers at this point, It's funny... what other tangible product is bootlegged simply because the original manufacturer refuses to make more? Most companies will manufacture any product if it will continue to make them money. I ordered a few copies, so I might have one or two to trade when my order arrives.

So is it the 180 gram pressing? Sticker on front? Runout matrix? You're the only person I've seen who has received their copy, so any more info you can give would be great.

I'd really like to know this as well. Download code? 180 gram? I have a copy on the way, but the seller didn't provide a shipping number so I'm not so sure when it's coming in.
