So good - I was jamming that repeatedly yesterday after KT posted it. I don't care what the rest of the album sounds like, the two tracks he's released so far are dope!

Not only is Eric Andre one of the funniest dudes on the planet, he's got great taste in soundtracks. Check out this video of him at Amoeba in LA: http://www.amoeba.com/whats-in-my-bag/detail/596/ -

Superfly and The Harder They Come are the greatest movie soundtracks ever - you need both of these in your collection, pronto. They can be picked up cheap - go get'em! -
You can stream the new track here (I highly recommend it!): http://pitchfork.com/news/55815-king-tuff-announces-black-moon-spell-shares-eyes-of-the-muse-announces-tour/

Yo! Just saw that King Tuff is coming out with a new album this fall, and it's up for pre-order on Sub Pop: https://megamart.subpop.com/releases/king_tuff/black_moon_spell/ The "Eyes of the Muse" single sounds great! Stoked!

Couldn't resist - especially after listening to the "Stranded (On My Own)" track streaming over at Pitchfork and various other places. Really good stuff! -

If I own all their LP's already, is this really worth it? Great live band, but that dude never shuts his mouth.... -
Skipping Issue with Debut Carbon
southern replied to southern's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
Thanks for the help - I'll post again when I get my act together....whenever that may be. -
On perfectly pristine vinyl (like new out of the jacket), I sometimes get random skips. For example, I just got the Ty Segall 7" in the mail yesterday, and while I was listening today for the first time, the needle would jump back ~1 groove (2-3 seconds of audio) on one of the tracks. Has anyone else had this problem with the Debut Carbon? I reset the tonearm force and checked the anti-skate weight (right in the middle notch, as per their recommendation). Should I get a tracking force gauge? Maybe the weight is too light or the pull from the anti-skate is too strong. Replies/advice would be appreciated!

Question about needle - Damage?
southern replied to southern's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
Thanks for your feedback, Jase - also, "a/b" is the lazy way of writing "about" (doesn't have anything to do with Side A or Side . Sorry to be confusing. -
So I recently purchased a Project Carbon with the Ortofon 2M Red needle already attached and set to roll. My question/concern is this: while I typically lift the tonearm off the record while it is still spinning, I had a brain fart today and turned the table off while the needle was still making contact with the record (in the locked groove at the end of the side) - Did I damage the needle by doing this? For some reason, I seem to think it's better to l - time to lift the tonearm, and I'm nervous that stopping the record with the needle still in contact with the vinyl could potentially damage the needle, itself (not too worried a/b) the vinyl since it was stopped in the "dead zone". Just curious to hear any thoughts or comments that y'all might have - time to buy a new needle or keep using the Ortofon? (It'd be a shame since the needle's only been used for 1 - 2 weeks, so far, but I'm paranoid a/b the needle damaging my vinyl.....yeah, I'm over-protective) Thanks!

I'm hoping to track down an Emotiva XPS-1 pre-amp for my current setup. (Been using an Art DJ Pre-II, but I've had it for years and want to upgrade) I couldn't find the Emotiva available through online retailers. so I'm turning to VC for help. Give a holler!
