  1. They hung around for a while too. I actually waited too long for the first press. So as soon as they announced the second press, I jumped on it.
  2. When they did the second press of it, Casey said they wouldn't be repressing it for a long time. But that was then, and things certainly change. Especially the size of his fan base and the ability to sell another $80 9 EP box set.
  3. Everything was really good. I wasn't that big on the Sucker Punch Show. But I really dug the EPs they put out in the lead up to Wild Blood.
  4. I remember them taking a poll asking if people would be interested in Pretend You're Alive on vinyl. So hopefully it's in the works.
  5. Lovedrug's Facebook just ramped up. Looks like they're finished with the new record and will be announcing some sort of potential tour in a few days. I loved Wild Blood, so I am pumped for this.
  6. Day for Night wasn't recorded with MtaE. BC had been demoing stuff for Day for Night after MtaE was finished, but they're going in the studio after the End Times tour wraps up. They're hoping to have the single out before the end of the year and the record out early next year.
  7. Agreed. Just listen to something like Lily. That is an incredibly simple, but effective, drum part.
  8. I also have an extra copy of Act III (150 gram) with glue on it. I ended up getting 3 copies of that fucking thing before getting one without glue on it. I gave the least glued one to my friend but still have the first replacement copy. That one has pretty distinct lines on both sides of LP 1. I'm not even sure why I'm holding onto it.
  9. Or devil's advocate says those songs are like that because of the lack of Jimmy's presence.
  10. The represses sound great. Just be on the lookout for glue on your copy of Act III.
  11. I remember reading an interview with Billy (or a podcast maybe) where he was talking about how the vocal change everyone is talking about was a conscious decision he made to sing differently. Really, I'd rather him sing how he used to, straining and crackly vocals and all, because it all seemed to have more emotion in it. Now, it's all so smoothed over and sits in a comfortable range that lacks any depth or feeling. And no matter what, I think all Smashing Pumpkins drums without Jimmy are uninspired. The stuff Tommy Lee did, any professional drummer could have done. Nothing was really special about the drums on that entire record. And Byrne was a big copycat. While he was good at copying, that's all he did. I'd rather have the real deal.
  12. That's the LP. The EP is American Gothic and that's the last thing they did together in the studio (aside from the one off singles like Superchrist and Glow). Honestly everything after that will reside in that space Adore does. How much better would Teargarden, Oceania, and Monuments have been received had Jimmy been drumming on them?
  13. I'm in the same boat. We're coming back from vacation the day of the show and it's pretty unlikely that I'll make it to the show. I'm super fucking bummed about it after this news.
  14. You're forgetting the LP and EP and large amounts of touring they did together after Zwan.
  15. Now if they'd only reissue Guilt Show. And that first New Amsterdams...
  16. Soundcity Beaches has been selling the 20th Anniversary for that price for at least 2 months. I wonder how many they have?
  17. The Random EPs, yes, The Branches EP, no. But still, that full band of Battesimo is fucking awesome.
  18. Don't forget the demos prior to Act I, the Random EPs, the Branches EP, Migrant, and the Migrations Annex. In 9 years there's been a huge amount of output.
  19. It's incredible. It might as well have been Danny Elfman writing it.
